Sanibel Holiday requires an applied deposit of 20% of the base rent rate plus all rent taxes plus the non-refundable $50 reservation fee which totals $55.75 with the required Florida taxes. ***Please be aware that our island is still going through recovery. All public beach accesses are open, there are approximately 24 restaurants now open, as well as a few shops including Jerry’s Grocery. The Causeway is currently under repair with 20 m.p.h. speed limit. Expect traffic delays coming on and off the island. Neighboring homes and condos are making repairs so expect noise, trucks & equipment at your property and throughout the island. Construction noise from interior work in adjoining or nearby units. Some amenities in your complex may be closed. Pickle Ball & Tennis Courts construction began 12/4/23 with a targeted completion of 3/16/24. Estimated Elevator completion date for Building 5 is 1/24/24.***The pool is now open.***

Loggerhead Cay is located on the East end of Sanibel Island, 5 minutes from the Causeway, 2 superior golf courses and all the wonderful shops and restaurants on Periwinkle Way. A short drive away is the Sanibel Athletic Center, library, Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge and many other amenities.

Unit 583 is a short walk through the lush courtyard to the beautiful shell-strewn beach and heated pool. The extensively landscaped Loggerhead Condominium complex also has gas grills, tennis, pickle-ball and shuffleboards courts and all equipment for these sports can be borrowed from the office.

This lovely, well-maintained open concept 3rd floor property can be accessed by stairs or elevator. The condo has been recently updated with all new mattresses and new bedding, 2 new sofas and new a/c. As an added convenience, the owner provides access to their indoor storage locker stocked with 4 beach chairs, 4 noodles, a beach umbrella and some beach toys. In addition to board games there are DVD's and DVD player, as well as a small lending library. The washer and dryer are conveniently located in the hall closet as you enter the condo and the lanai has been enclosed with hurricane glass sliding doors.

Great cond

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo was well maintained and very clean, beach chairs and umbrella were very nice. The only negative's with our stay - TV's in bedrooms did not have cable TV, you have to use apps to receive live TV, we do not subscribe to live TV apps. The lenai faces west, and gets very hot in the evening.

The only real issue with the condo would be the bathrooms . They need to be updated . Shower heads were moldy in both bathrooms, they had very little water pressure and we did have some clogging issues in both showers . Im assuming it’s due to all the sand .

Review of 4-Week Stay at Loggerhead Cay 583

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was disappointed that the apartment didn't seem to be maintained as well as it has been in the past, and I'm guessing that may be because the owners in Canada have not been able to get down to use it during the pandemic. The upholstery on both sofas was so dirty that I took time to sponge-clean it and remove some of the stains so I would feel comfortable sitting on it. It also looked as though the carpet needed a thorough cleaning. Although I don't like to use air conditioning, I was forced to turn that system on a few times during my stay to dehumidify the apartment when the moisture level got so high that the tile floors became wet and slippery. When on, the air conditioner was very noisy; I suspect it needs some maintenance. During my stay, I requested maintenance twice, once to repair the refrigerator, where pools of water were forming on the top shelf and a second time to install a pull chain on the fan in the smaller bedroom so that fan could be turned off. (The fan was on when I arrived, and it was only much later that I discovered there was no way to turn it off.) In both instances, the repairs were done quickly and well. The apartment had not been cleaned when I arrived at check-in time, but Sanibel Holiday apologized for the resulting inconvenience by giving me a $50 gift certificate to Jerry's, which was very nice and more than compensated for the hour lost in waiting for the cleaners to leave. The apartment is not in an ideal location within the Loggerhead complex because it is near the pool and an adjacent area where groups congregate in the evening. The noise coming from those areas can be extremely annoying at times. (There seems to be no effort by the condo association to regulate that noise until after 10 p.m.) Heretofore, it has always been the clean, well-appointed, and well-maintained quality of this apartment that has influenced my decision to return to it despite the noise. I hope to find those qualities restored when I return next year
