Breathtaking and peaceful. Amazing host, Wayan

For some reason each HomeAway host has not expected us in Bali. This did not deter Wayan from putting his most gracious foot forward and welcoming us to his beautiful home and giving us the best tour of his part of Bali that we have ever experienced. We saw wood Carver's, volcanos, rice terraces, temples and had a buffet lunch with a view of the caldera. The home was clean and the food was wonderful. The pool and surrounding garden was so peaceful. The porch bed was so delightful that we fell asleep! Wayan is a great host and driver. He knows his way well and is full of insightful information about the area and it's people. The only thing we asked for that we didn't enjoy was Ubud Market. Save yourself some time and traffic and skip it. There is nothing cultural about it. It is just a crowded Warren of vendors selling tourist trinkets. No artisans to see here. Wayan's neighbor is a talented woodcarver. There are real batik artists close by. Don't be fooled by the exchange rate, a good price is still good for real artistry.
