Completely charming!

Walking in to this home and hearing Mozart playing as we opened the door while also seeing a welcome basket on the table… we knew in that moment we had found our perfect stay. There are no words to describe the charm and warm feel that we found as we explored all of the rooms. As beautiful as the inside is, the grounds outside were also fantastic! The trails, the horses, the barn cat that gave us the warmest welcome… we enjoyed an amazing weekend with family and can’t wait to come back another time! On a side note, our host was incredibly accommodating and available before, throughout and after our stay.

This was a lovely and unique place to stay for the weekend. There were 7 of us in town for a wedding and the house was perfect for us. We enjoyed exploring the property and visiting the horses. The host is great at communicating and providing detailed directions.

Had a lovely weekend in this charming home on a peaceful farm. Guests should note that this property is managed by Evolve and once booked they will mostly communicate with you through their proprietary system, rather than VRBO. The house is everything promised and has all the amenities you could want. There are a number of deadbolts that don't work but the door handles themselves locked (we were two women having a quiet girls weekend so that was a bit unsettling but nothing bad happened!). The linens, bathrooms, and kitchen were all clean and comfortable and plenty of places to sit and read, do a puzzle, play games, and eat meals as a family.

We love old houses, and all the history here was great. Beautiful grounds, the tree swing was a hit, horses, deer, birds and more.

This was a very unique property with a beautiful house and pleasant grounds with walking paths, a pond, and other amenities. The beds were comfortable, the location was in close proximity to our destination.

Retired girls’ trip

Our group of friends like to stay in locations that can offer an environment that offers relaxation and individual space for each one of us. This property provided us the comfort we wanted and its personality fit us to a tee! We all commented that we felt like we were at Grandma’s house because it was warm and inviting!

A Step Back in Time

Wonderful, charming, historic farmhouse home. Perfect for us. The owner/manager extremely helpful and kind. Quiet retreat but close to all you need. Beautifully decorated for Christmas also. We'll stay again should the opportunity arise.

Quiet comfort

The property was an amazing place to be able to relax during our stay in Virginia. The charm of the antiques and comfort of the home was very welcoming. Teresa was very accommodating and responded quickly and to any questions that I had. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Very beautiful and unique historic home with an interesting family history and a pleasant, quiet property with walking paths, pond, and meditation areas.Comfortable beds, extensive library, spacious TV lounging area, well equipped kitchen, lots of local history sites to visit, close proximity to Richmond and surrounding suburbs but far enough away to be quiet and serene.Easy check-in check-out, good instructions.Very clean

Beautiful historic home

Spent the weekend at Terre Haute with friends from college. The home and grounds were beautiful! The host was fantastic and we appreciate the treat basket left out for us. The books were fantastic! It was very quiet and peaceful and I would definitely stay again. My only suggestions would be to offer a little more comfortable seating for just having coffee and catching up. Otherwise, thank you for a lovely stay.

Quiet and serene with easy access to Richmond!

Terre Haute Manor was a perfect location for me and my family to celebrate my niece's graduation from VCU. The grounds were beautiful, private and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed for our family meals. Bedrooms and beds were spacious and comfortable for all to have a great nights sleep or a mid-afternoon nap! We really enjoyed the sun porch and back deck for spending time together and playing games. Teresa our hostess was very responsive and welcoming. In addition to the beautiful home there are multiple "coffee table books" where you can read and learn about the rich history of the area and Virginia overall. Would definitely come back to Terre Haute Manor!

Richmond for Pickleball

I took two teams (UMASS & JMU) to the college super regional Pickleball tournament. The house was fantastic because it was affordable for college kids (though one needed to be 30 years of age to book it…I exceed that age), it had lots of beds and enough bathrooms and a kitchen. I recommend getting there in the daylight hours because it is a little off the beaten path and dark when you arrive but it was perfect fit for our needs - great hospitality! Beautiful animals in the property too (donkeys and horses) and a home and land full of history. Less than 20 minutes from pickleball paradise (Performance Pickleball)…an amazing facility. Thank you!

Experience Tranquility at this Historic Farmhouse

This property was ideal for 8 of our out of town guests to stay while in Midlothian for a large family gathering at our own home. Very clean and well appointed with beautiful antique furniture, Teresa's home offered a comfortable place to relax. The kitchen had all of the amenities of home if you'd like to prepare your own meals. Sitting in the sunroom was especially serene with it's wide windows that overlooked the peaceful landscape. Terre Haute is tucked back from the main road, far enough to feel secluded from civilization, yet conveniently located just a few minutes from Route 288. Many great restaurants and shopping are within 15 minutes and downtown Richmond is within 30 minutes. We will definitely refer Terre Haute to other family members and friends who come to visit us in Midlothian!

Pre-Revolutionary Huguenot Home (1744)

We loved out stay at Terre Haute Manor. Teresa was so responsive before we arrived that we felt informed and ready go immerse ourselves in as much about the area as possible. Many significant sites in the area, including Tukahoe, which was one on Thomas Jefferson's childhood homes. The home is also around a hour from Monticello to the West and Historic Williamsburg to the East.The actual home has been restored with care and is great to walk through. The grounds have paths to explore around the woods and allow for reflection on whatever part of history you may be seeking to get in touch with. Being a Huguenot descendent I was fascinated with the information supplied in the home about that exodus from France and the relation to Terre Haute Manor. We did not need to contact the owner again once we were there, as a result of their responses and other pre-stay emails. Wonderful home and well worth a stay. I recommend it!

Charming and Welcoming Manor Home

This lovely property was perfectly wonderful for our holiday get away. My husband and I enjoyed staying at this beautifully decorated house which was conveniently located near Richmond, which we frequented during our stay. The home is spacious, with many interesting rooms, as well as warm and inviting. We arrived to a cozy atmosphere complete with Christmas carols playing! Everything is as it appears online. Very clean and lovely. The historic home has a long history and there are newspaper articles, etc. available to read if interested. The surrounding property is spacious and picturesque. There are many horses around to see when coming and going and even visible from inside the house. Comfortable bed and kitchen was enjoyable for making and enjoying meals. Pretty dining room with fireplace as well. We used both. The manor would be an enjoyable place to vacation any time of the year, however I can’t say enough about the extensive holiday decorations. If you love an old fashioned Christmas then you will find it here! Finally, Teresa was a wonderful hostess and she was always available if needed, although we didn’t have any issues, just a question or two maybe. Thoroughly enjoyable!!

What a beautiful historic home situated on a working horse farm. The home was beautiful with many antiques that were perfect for the style of the house. Communication with Theresa couldn't have been better. Our granddaughters loved hiking and exploring the property. The house was well equipped and met all our needs. I loved Theresa had a book with the history of the property, I usually don't get an education at a VRBO, I loved it. I would highly recommend this property.

Ideal place for bass anglers and history buffs!!

Our expectations were exceeded staying at this property. My group consisted of six professional anglers - the privacy and safety gave us great peace of mind having our trucks and boats parked each evening with plenty of room. The history behind this house was fascinating. We all loved learning more about the home and the surrounding areas. The home itself was comfortable, clean, and provided us everything we needed to feel at home the week we were there. We made dinners every night and really liked having the dishwasher. The washer and dryer were brand new and a huge plus for our crew. Last but most importantly, Teresa the host was outstanding. She was extremely responsive, kind, and went out of her way to take care of the minor requests we had. Next time we come back to fish the James River, we will definitely book here again!
