On the beach
A rare beachfront property in the area - enjoy direct access to the sand and sea.
Big Fall Discounts. This beautiful home is located on the East Shore of Lake Almanor. An all weather paved road is open all year for summer and winter access. The home is right on the water with its very large beach and so close to the water that you can hear the water lapping at the shore. This house is really right on the water. No walking down a path or trail, not behind another house, not across the road, but right on the water and you have your OWN boat launching ramp, large dock, 2 buoys, RV Spot and 3 Jet Ski Ramps that allows you to pull your jet ski right up on the shore, instead of leaving it in the water when you are not using it. A note about the RV spot. Because of the driveway the only spot for an RV is on top of the property and parallels and is close the road, so you will hear cars going by at night. The RV spot does have a 30 amp power plug, but no water or sewer.
The house faces West to capture the incredible sunsets and views of Mt Lassen. The large deck has a built-in gas BBQ plus an additional charcoal BBQ. In addition there is an outside hot shower, 2 person swing, a hammock, basketball hoop, horseshoe pit, 3 chaise lounges, lots of chairs and benches, 3 dining tables, one of which seats 10 and altogether can seat more than 20 people.
Tall pines shade the house from most sun but do not block your expansive views of this very large lake. Good fishing can be found at Lake Almanor with several varieties of fish. Small mouth bass fishing is best right off of the large boat dock. Trout can also be seen and caught from the dock.
A 2 person kayak and 2 peddle/paddle boats are also provided.
The inside of this home is truly remarkable with a large brick and rock fireplace, two story open beam ceiling, large kitchen with breakfast island, sun room/dining room with great views of the lake, 4 bedrooms and two baths. Master has a queen bed plus a blow up queen. Guest bedroom has a queen and a single blow up if needed, den has 2 singles and a queen blow up if needed. Downstairs is a bunk room that has 3 bunk beds, single on top and full on the bottom. So as many as 9 people in there. All of our grandkids want to stay together in one room instead of being split up.
The house is cooled by the tall pines, many windows, sliding doors, fans, and a large cooler. The sheds have air filled water toys to play in the water. Bikes are provided ( 2 adult ) and there are many bike trails in the area, including one that runs around part of the lake and another that runs along an abandoned railroad line next to the Susan River and 30 miles to Susanville, California.
Bald Eagles and Ospreys nest near the house and are seen almost daily fishing for their dinner right in front of your door. Hearing them call to one another is truly remarkable and occasional fights occur. This home is very private, yet on a main road and close to restaurants, gas, shopping, and Chester California, the Gateway to Lassen National Park.
Many of the rentals nearby are either condo's or houses in a group setting and not really right on the lake, and are usually crowded with other renters. Many of them are on coves or inlets that become dry when the lake drops during the summer. Here you are always right on the water and really by yourselves. There are neighbors, but most are summer homes that are stayed in infrequently.
Staying here during the winter is truly magical and with the road plowed if there has been snow. The lake is very calm in the winter, perfect for cruising the lake in our kayak. We have been out January 1st, the lake was like glass and the temperature was 50 degrees, hot on the water and no one around. There are 2 snowmobile parks nearby plus numerous trails for snowmobiling and cross country skiing. A major ski resort is also in the works for the area. and a small ski area, Coppervale Ski Area is 10 miles from the house. This area includes a Poma Lift, Rope Tow, Half Pipe, Jumps and Rails. Alpine, Nordic and Cross Country with Groomed Trails. Lessons Available.
Other times the beauty of the snowfall on the lake and forest is really breathtaking. Families staying at Lake Almanor and this wonderful home have made never to forget lifetime memories. Our children and grandchildren never want to leave the lake and want to spend the majority of the time on the beach.
Summer fills up fast so please check our calendar for availability. We do offer a 5 % discount for returning renters. Please inquire about dates that are shown as unavailable as cancellations do occur and there is no deposit required for being on the waiting list.
Everything is provided to our guests; linens, towels, beach towels, paper products like hot and cold cups, plates, bowls, paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, foil, food wrap, storage bags, garbage bags, coffee pot, filters and stir sticks, bath soap, liquid dish and hand soap, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, dryer sheets, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, crock pot, toaster, toaster oven, pop corn popper, waffle maker, electric knife, blender, salt and pepper and some spices. We also provide VHS and DVD movies and players with an articulating wall mounted 47 inch LED LCD Panasonic Flat Screen TV plus another flat screen in the master bedroom. There is also Amazon Prime FREE Movies.
I do not think there are any houses closer to the water than ours. When the lake retreats in the summer, it never gets very low and you just end up with more beach.

About the host
Hosted by Don Schricker
Cheryl is a speech pathologist in private practice. Don has been a Realtor for 29 years. Both work part time in the Reno, Sparks, and Carson City areas of Nevada. We were both born in Chicago, but met here in Nevada. Between us we have 5 children and 16 grand children who love being at the Lake. They are all growing up spending time at the Lake, never want to go home, and want to spend all of the time at the beach, playing on the dock, using the boats, and learning to ski. The older ones love to fish and eat their catch. When we are not enjoying the Lake House we travel sometimes in our motor home with some of the grand kids, but their favorite vacation spot is still at the lake. Memories are being made that will last a lifetime. My earliest memory is being at my uncle's house on a lake in Indiana.
Why they chose this property
We had a very small cabin at nearby Buck's Lake. Our family was expanding and we needed a larger place where everyone could gather and still have some separate space. The Bucks Cabin was just too small. One of my friends said you had to go outside just to change your mind! We searched an entire summer for just the right lake and then just the right house. We looked at everything. We saw this house from the outside and it was not for sale at the time. We remarked that was the type of house we were looking for and one month later it came up for sale. We looked at it the following day. Cheryl stood in the entryway and got goose bumps as she took it all in. The two story ceiling, the rock and brick fireplace, the wood walls, and tile floors. Not to mention the views from almost everywhere in the house. The doors were open and you could hear the waves rolling up on the beach. The house had everything, even more than we hoped for. The home was hand crafted by the seller including making the cabinets, the center island, the solarium, the doors, the rock and brick work, and the outside stone BBQ. We could tell it was a labor of love. We bought our lake house the following day.
What makes this property unique
I do think there are any other homes closer to the water than ours. When the lake retreats in the summer, it never gets very low and you just end up with more beach. We have removed most of the rocks from the beach and built a large dock that goes along with the boat launch ramp. The beach is very wide, shallow slopped with no drop offs, safe for the kids and very private. There are numerous shaded and sunny areas to sit and relax and still be near to the beach or the house. You can play horseshoes or basketball while watching the kids in the water or cooking your dinner on one of the two BBQ's. One built-in gas and another charcoal BBQ. We have equipped the house with everything you can need. Lots of cookware, utensils, cups, bowls, everything we could think of to make your stay easy and memorable. Crockpot, waffle maker, toaster oven, mixer, blender, coffee pot with filters, mixing bowls, baking supplies, and even some spices. In addition, there is always enough paper products for your entire stay. Plastic silverware, hot and cold cups, regular and heavy paper plates, and even napkins. If you prefer to wash dishes we have left you liquid dish soap, dishwasher soap and even bar soap, We have included the toilet paper, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, big and small baggies, and large garbage bags. Inside the dining room will seat 8-12, plus the center island has 4 bar stools. There is also a fold out table for additional seating or serving. Outside there are 3 tables, one of which seats 10. In addition there is a 2 person covered swing, several benches, lounge chairs, sitting chairs, a hammock, several beach chairs, beach towels, a patio heater, and an outdoor hot and cold water shower with an enclosure.
