Everything we needed was in the property. Location was wonderful close to shops as well as beach. The owners are very prompt with communication. Overall the place was relatively tidy however keep in mind it is an old beach property so getting every where spotless would not be possible. Would definitely book again if returning.
It very old house which we knew, but the floors are on a lean, big gaps under the door, we had to go out buy cups, their cups were stained with brown dirt, the place was not clean, if it was cleaned it would have been better, it was pet friendly

It is too bad that this guest could not chill out and enjoy the sunset from the deck which is directly on the beach sand facing west to the sea
As for cleanliness we employ a professional cleaner. She does not go through the cupboards to check if any of the coffee cups have not been properly washed
If you are the type of person who equates old with bad and dirty do us both a favour and not too rent Bronte
Thank you for our wonderful stay at Bronte! It was a joy to stay in such a comfortable and spacious home, and the direct access to the beach was a wonderful highlight! My dog and I also enjoyed walks at nearby reserves. We had a wonderfully peaceful stay, and the excellent internet connection made it easy for me to work from Bronte. Would love to visit again. Thank you so much Jillian and Roger for sharing your special space with us! Bronte is a treasure!
Very quaint cottage. Comfortable for myself and a colleague working in the area for 3 days. Had everytbing we needed and handy walking distance to shops and restaurants.
It was like stepping back in time. We where very comfortable. Heating worked very well. Prompt hot water. Right on the beach and very quiet.Certain not a modern sterile place. Lots of character.
Very good location, right on the beach and close to supermarket. Very rundown but charming.

Our first Stayz experience was disappointing. Check-in was easy and the location good, but the historic house is falling apart, with uneven floors, poor ventilation and little evidence of maintenance. The BBQ and laundry were filthy, and we witnessed a giant rat jump over the BBQ. The back gate also needs better security. The bunk bed ladder was extremely wobbly, so I only allowed my seven-year-old to use it for one night. The mattress repeatedly slid due to the uneven floor. We also spent an entire day without power, with minimal communication from the hosts. At checkout, my youngest accidentally misplaced the key, which I promptly reported. I offered to pay reasonable replacement costs. However, after 24 hours without a response, I received a 500 charge for an allegedly broken bunk bed, linen across five beds and a marked doona.I dispute these charges. The ladder was already unstable, and I do not believe my child broke it. He changed one queen sheet because the supplied one kept slipping off, unaware the unlocked linen cupboard was apparently off-limits. I washed the sheet. He did not use linen across five beds. I also cannot verify the alleged doona damage.I accept responsibility for the key but will not fund replacements for items we did not damage without evidence. The property desperately needs repairs, and I will not be funding what appears to be a clearMoney grab to buy a new bunk bed and linen.

This guest turns the fact that the rear deck opens directly onto the beach to a negative. ‘the back gate also needs better security’.
She states that she ‘witnessed a giant rat jump over the BBQ’. In the 70 years the family has owned the property no one has seen a rat.
If indeed the bunk bed was already busted as she claims, she did not report it on arrival or departure. In civil disputes it is on the balance of probability’ that economic awards are made.
The bedroom facing the beach has sloping floors. The owner’s husband, a licenced builder, has modified the bed (by cutting off part of 3 of the legs and using a level) to ensure that the mattress itself is 100% level. The other 2 bedroom do not have sloping floors. It is therefore hard to believe the claim that a mattress continuously slipped off due to sloping floors.
The website clearly states that linen is not included. The welcome note and the checkin instructions repeat the information that linen is not included. There was no excuse for using the linen without permission. Using the linen without permission and leaving it dirty on all the beds created a crisis as the linen was required for a guest who paid for linen and was checking in the same afternoon of the checkout.
We have made it perfectly clear that Bronte is an original beach house built in the 1920’s. Guests who require ceramic tile laundries should not rent Bronte and should not write bad reviews.
