One of the best places we have ever stayed. The view was exceptional, all facilities were excellent and our host was enthusiastically responsive to any of our requests regarding tours and restaurants. This is a very special place to relax and experience "la pura vida". Highly highly recommended.
We so enjoyed our time at your amazing casita. The wildlife was amazing and the view everyday was incredible We hope to be back again soon Thank you for everything you are a amazing host so appreciate all the extra help you gave us
This was our second stay so we got to know the area quite well as we were there for two weeks. We found several great walking/hiking routes and great restaurants nearby to drive or walk to. This trip we went on a private fishing trip with spicy tuna, the zip line and golf so there is a lot to keep you busy. We love the property and the staff. The gardens are amazing and the casita met all our needs. We plan on returning in a couple of months for our third visit.
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at this sweet Casita. Location was gorgeous, accommodations restful, and surrounding area was wonderful. We cannot wait to return! It was a special trip, and we hope we can return soon. Thank you to our lovely host and team.
My wife and I spent our 30th anniversary in this Casita and it was wonderful. Beautiful views, surroundings and overall just a great place for 2 people to get away. 5 to 10 minutes from everything you need for a wonderful trip and all Lokita's suggestions are spot on. Thanks Lokita for sharing this little gem with us.
We truly loved the Casita with a gorgeous view and small pool overlooking the bay. It’s perfect for a couple who wants to relax and still have access to what Montezuma and the surrounding has to offer.
Wasn’t really an invasion, but we had an awesome first two days with a group of 8 howlers camped out in the trees right above the casita. This is truly a wonderful spot, and a great place to base out of when exploring zuma and the nicoya peninsula. Starting every day with a short hike down to the falls is amazing!
This was one of my highlight stops based on the description and it didn't disappoint. Everything is just incredible. Lokita's communication is top notch and the privacy, views and Casita are just wonderful. Unforgettable stay, love this place!
It was an amazing location the views were great and the place was pretty. I love the recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Everyone was kind and welcoming.
Great views and we had a big family of monkeys on the property which was great. Friendly dog also on property. Quick drive to everything. Brewery close also. Would return.
We loved our stay in this casita. The views from this place are better than the pictures. We loved being close to the town of Montezuma, but still tucked away in the beautiful oasis. This place is very well thought out and very clean. We hope to stay here again someday!
Beautiful view, hose is small but very comfortable and has everything what we need and is nice hidden in the jungle , we will come back

Beautiful Views and very cute Casita. outside kitchen as nice but lots of ants, understand why plastic bins were supplied. the listing said a short walk to town was misleading as the house was on a VERY Steep hill with a narrow road and somewhat busy (dangerous). we ended up having to drive to town and beach each day we stayed there which we cut short (by 4 nights) for this reason. we paid for entire week (7 nights) and only stayed 3 nights.

I'm sorry that the guests decided to cut short their stay because of the location of my property - on a cliff above Montezuma, as mentioned in the description, and that the hill was steeper than expected. The Casita is ideal for those wishing to enjoy the beach yet be away from the hustle and bustle of Montezuma for some extra rest and relaxation.
Many guests choose to rent a vehicle for overall flexibility, others take taxis for the short ride up the hill, and others walk. Some guests arrive and don't leave until the checkout day because they love the place so much!

Thank you for your visit and review. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at my sanctuary. Vacation time is so important, and it was my pleasure to help make yours a great experience! Hope to welcome you again before too long.
This property is incredible! The view is incredible, the property leaves you wanting nothing, and Lokita herself is a gem. She has creating something so special with her rental. We hope to visit her and her property again!
If you’re looking for a laid back beach town with abundant nature, this is it! The casita was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for breakfast and lunch in. View is incredible. Privacy abounds with all the tropical landscaping. Would recommend this place if you are planning to go to Montezuma.
The view is to die for, Lokita is a gracious and helpful host, the grounds are impeccable, and the 18 foot cathedral ceilings belie the name “casita”. The only problem: the stay was too short.

Lovely property!
We spent five nights at Lokita's charming Casita. Very hot while we were there but always seemed to be breezes on this hilltop setting. Beautiful sunrises and a great pool. Quiet and peaceful landscaped setting. Some really good restaurants- eg Clandestina- close by as well as some lovely beaches. We had a great time and would love to return in the future.

Paradise at its best!
I feel so lucky to have found this cozy, romantic and adorable place to spend a few nights.
Away from the center of town and yet so close to it. It was the perfect place to relax, go down for a swim and walk at the nearby beach and then come home to our privacy and magnificent view. Lokita, our host was the best! I highly recommended.

Thank you so much, Elia. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Casita, and I hope to welcome you again some day before too long! Greetings from Montezuma.
Great view and very comfortable Only down side was old plastic lounge chairs which broke as soon we sat on them. Unfortunate, as i have a bad back and there was 2 wooden longers by the other rental not being used.Would recommend
This property was great. The wildlife is amazing. The Montezuma Waterfalls are minuets from the property. The internet was good for my work, I was able to video chat with no issue. Location is key to Montezuma, but make sure you have a SUV the road conditions in the area require this.

If you visit the area with a vehicle, especially in the green=rainy season (mid May to mid-Nov) the roads are often rough, and a 4x4 SUV is recommended. Alternative, ATVs can be rented in downtown Montezuma. For visits in the dry season a 2WD will suffice. Many of the roads in the area are unsealed and potholes are common.
About the host
Hosted by Lokita Carter
Originally German, I lived in Australia for many years before coming to California for love. My late husband Steve and I taught personal growth seminars for 17 years. Our annual vacation took place in Montezuma, Costa Rica where we eventually spent more and more time, especially since building our house, and later expanded to include a pool, guest casita and yoga deck. Steve was a passionate gardener and landscape artist, and the environment of the beautiful property reflects that.
I currently divide my time between California, Costa Rica, and Germany.
Why they chose this property
The views and the location above Montezuma were irresistible! When we first saw the lot in 2005, we sat down and just stared at the ocean. After owning the vacant lot for a few years, my late husband and I decided to build a small residence there. Then, in 2014 we built the casita and the pool. 2022 saw the addition of a plunge pool exclusive to the Casita. The property is simply spectacular.
What makes this property unique
The views, the privacy and seclusion from the outside world, yet it is close to the small town of Montezuma with its beaches and attractions; the fresh tropical breezes when it is stifling in town, the incredible wildlife that visits daily, and the gardens... a small paradise.
