We have 5 lovely, peaceful self-contained garden studio rooms available, each in a pretty garden settings with garden views, and nearby off-street parking. Each has a kitchenette with microwave, electric fry-pan, a small fridge, and a queen bed. All linen is provided along with complimentary toiletries, and tea and coffee provisions. Complete with a flat screen TV with Sky Guest Select (50+ channels) and free WiFi.

Established many decades ago, the original cottage on Seaview Rd was one of the first backpacker retreats on bohemian Waiheke Island. It was extended with additional cottages added. The first Motel block with its large family-friendly units was built in the 1970s, and renamed The Midway Motel. Studio units were developed in the gardens in the 1980s, and one-bedroom cottages were added in the 1990s through to 2010.

Recently the rooms have been upgraded, and in 2016 Christina Hyde and Kelly Addis took over the ownership of the business, and renamed it the Waiheke Island Motel. They have big plans, so watch this space….

Why they chose this property

Waiheke Island Motel is conveniently located in the heart of the populated western end of Waiheke Island. The Fullers passenger ferry terminal is a 10 minute drive, the Sealink vehicle ferry is a 5 minute drive, and it is on the main bus route.

The motel is within an easy 10 minute drive of 10 of the island's most beautiful beaches, including busy Oneroa beach, pretty Palm Beach, and the long beach at Onetangi. Many vineyards, restaurants, and local activities are also a short drive (or bus trip) away.

Waiheke Island Motel has 14 spacious units and cottages in a pretty garden setting.It has a wide range of accommodation, from Garden Studio Apartments for 1 or 2 people through to 2-bedroom family units. We can accommodate individuals, couples, families or groups of 25 or more.We also have a number of apartments and houses available on the Island for extended stays. These can accommodate anything from couple to a couple of families together. Check out our newest additions - a luxury one-bedroom apartment on Park Point or rent out the entire Park Point Estate (apartment included)All Motel Units and Cottages are fully self-contained and serviced daily. All you need to bring is yourself and something comfortable to wear.
