Dear Deb, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay. We’re currently at the cottage for the next 10 days, so we’ll take the opportunity to address the sliding bedroom door and the other items you mentioned. Regarding the hot water, we’re particularly surprised to hear that you experienced this issue, as it’s the first time in five years that a guest has mentioned running out of hot water. We did have an unusual situation this week that may have contributed: the complex had to shut off the water for several hours on Wednesday to repair a leak in the spa. This was unfortunately beyond our control, and the interruption may have temporarily affected the water system. We’ll nevertheless take the opportunity to check everything carefully while we’re here to make sure the system is working properly. With two teenage boys in our family who can turn a bathroom into a sauna, we’re certainly familiar with putting the hot water system to the test! 😊 We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve the cottage and provide an even better experience for our guests. Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, you could not use the washer/dryer as it did break just prior to your stay. These things are unfortunately impossible to anticipate. Having a delivery company and plumber deal with this matter during your stay would have been troublesome. We chose the less disruptive option. Thank you for bringing the coils to our attention, Being the first guest informing us of that matter, new ones have been ordered. This being said, the cleaner took extra time cleaning the kitchen including the fridge and the microwave... pictures sent by the cleaner to show me the state of the kitchen demonstrate that plenty of cooking has been done.... As far as bedding and couch, the previous guests did find the cottage comfy. I can only answer that when renting on VRBO or other similar sites, guests have access to a privately owned accommodation with its perks. It is not a hotel /motel with standard features. Dear Cathy, I am glad you enjoyed your time at our cottage. We purchased the cottage in December 2019 and made several improvements since. We work hard (Kathleen, our property manager and I) to provide guests with a clean and well kept environment so they can have a relaxing vacation. It is so important.
