Hill Country weekend

Love love love Millie’s!! This is the second time I’ve stayed there and it never disappoints. Clean, cute and convenient to everything we wanted to do. Having deer right outside when we got there was beautiful. Will definitely stay there again!

Great place on the lake!

This place is great for a lake trip! My fiance and I hung out for a week, brought kayaks, and enjoyed the lake (and nearby Guadalupe river). The house is great - stocked with all the basics, a charcoal grill, and more. It's a short walk down to the water, with a beach. We had a great time and will plan to be back next summer!

Cute place

The property is super cute and seemed recently remodeled. Everything was clean and tidy. Even though there was no water in that part of the lake it was a nice relaxing place to sit and enjoy. Will definitely come back when there is water.

After paying in full I was then told to sign a rental agreement. I was also told to text my ID, which is not a secure way of communicating sensitive information. Vrbo has this info on file... Though I had already paid, I could not have access to the address or check-in codes without completing these steps. I felt it was all over the top and manipulative.

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this cabin for families! It was comfortable for our family of four and made a great home base for exploring the area. One thing to note is that our cabin did not have the hammock shown in the listing, The mattress on the main bed could also use an update, as it was quite noisy whenever someone moved. The location was fantastic! We had an amazing first-night dinner at Neon Armadillo—the burgers were delicious, the adults enjoyed the margaritas, and the live music and cornhole made it fun for the whole family. We rented kayaks on Canyon Lake, and Brookshire Brothers was conveniently located nearby for groceries. The wildlife was one of the highlights of our stay! We saw several deer, roadrunners racing around the property, and while grilling one evening, a juvenile fox wandered up and sat on a rock watching us like the cutest little dinner guest, hoping we'd share our meal. Thankfully, he accepted "window shopping" without any complaints! Overall, we had a great trip, enjoyed the peaceful setting, and made wonderful family memories. With a couple of small updates, this cabin would easily be a five-star stay.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're glad Millie's Cottages Unit 6 - Mehta was a comfortable home base for your family and that you enjoyed the location, great local dining, Canyon Lake kayaking, and the wildlife — that fox story made us smile. I apologize for the missing hammock and the noisy main mattress; we appreciate the feedback and will have the hammock situation checked and evaluate the mattress/bed frame for repair or replacement. We hope to host your family again and earn that fifth star on your next stay.

Charming cottage

We came to view the eclipse, which, sadly, we didn't see because of cloud cover. But, this cottage practically made up for it. Extremely cute, fun bunk beds for the teens, and a relaxing, beautiful setting. Reminded us a lot of being in Sonoma County back home in CA. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed our stay

Great get away with the family. Everything is close by if you are needing anything. Loved the nature experience that was provided by the property loved ti see the wild animals roam at night. Picture was a little deceiving about the water being so close. But I know that due to the weather the water receded a bit. But that is not a show stopper. We enjoyed our stay and will return. Thank you for the great accommodations.

We been coming to Millie’s for about 10 years this is the lowest I seen the river. However is a beautiful place right now there is water in lake but is very low. The cottage was very dusty my allergies was going crazy this is the reason why we had to drive every day to see the area

Water level

The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. However, the pics were misleading and it shows the water close by. We were unaware how low the water was and we had to drive to another area to fish. Otherwise it was a beautiful place and the area was so peaceful. The deer were a cherry on top!

Dear Selina, Thank you for your kind words regarding your recent stay at our cabin. We're delighted to hear that you found the property beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped for your needs. It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the presence of the deer. We apologize for any confusion regarding the proximity of the water. The water levels are dependent on the amount of rain we get, and that can be difficult to track. Despite this issue, we're pleased to hear that you had an overall enjoyable experience at our cabin. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another peaceful getaway in the future.

Nice quiet retreat in hill country

The property is located near Canyon Lake in a quiet hillside byway. Really cute cottage well stocked with supplies and nice amenities. The children loved the bunk beds in the unit and we had a nice picnic in the backyard. The only confusion was it appeared to have a deck at the back but it turned out to be a different unit. Also, the lake seemed to be further from the property than the pictures showed but that might be because the water receding in winter. Overall really nice good experience. Location is close to new Braunfels, wimberly and Fredericksburgs

NOT LIKE ADVERTISING. The picture is not recent. You can not get to the water from these properties. There is no back door and all it is , is mud around the small buildings. You are expected to park on the shoulder of the road, not a problem with one vehicle. We stayed here for 2 nights, 3 girls to float the river. Tiny bathroom with one small mirror and plumbing is poor. Not worth the expense. Just stay in a hotel for this price

A Pleasant Surprise

The pictures on the website do not do the property justice. The cottage is very cozy and simple to navigate. The view of the lake from the property is spectacular. The lake is accessible via a short walk down a hill. We went during a cold weekend and the heat is more than adequate to keep us warm. There was nothing we were wanting for, just make sure you bring what you would normally bring to make yourself comfortable. I would easily book a weekend here again.

Best part of our stay was simply cooling off in the lake and enjoying the clean beautiful water. Around the corner is a boat launch so it's not to busy but enough action nearby to enjoy watching boaters too Our first time in Canyon Lake...just great
