Great location, but very basic accommodation. There are now towels or sheets provided which we missed when booking. The house is a basic 60s beach shack and the bed is rock hard. It has its charms but not the easiest stay.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the great location and appreciate your comments about the property. As noted in the property listing and in the arrival information, towels and linen are not provided, however we understand this can be easy to overlook when making a booking. We’re sorry to hear that the bed was firmer than you would have preferred and that the accommodation wasn’t quite what you were expecting. The property is intentionally a simple, traditional 1960s beach shack, and we appreciate that its character and charm may appeal to some guests while others may prefer more modern facilities. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope you were still able to enjoy your time in the area.

Fun, mid century beach house.

We loved our family holiday at Rose Cottage. Clean and very comfortable with authentic 50’s vibe made for a fun time. Perfectly located very close to beaches, and very peaceful with national park over the road. Not a standard apartment or house but much more fun.

Simple holiday shack - perfect for a quiet getaway

The house is located opposite bushland so we saw plenty of wildlife and had quiet nights. It was a real treat to stay here, as it reminded me of a holiday house my family used to own. Everything is original, including the 60 year old fridge that worked a charm! The only niggle was that the beds could do with an update. The single bed frames squeaked and the queen bed had probably seen better days. There was also quite a bit of clutter in the house that could be removed to enable better enjoyment of the amenities, i.e. some of the cupboards were full with stored clothes and shoes.

Great stay!

The house was not a classy hotel but exactly what we needed when getting away from the city to enjoy the beauty around Hyams beach. The house made a perfect little getway virtually seconds from the beach.
