There is little to add about the property, as it is exactly as described, it was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with a view to die for. Raffaelle was very helpful, and arranged a meal for us on the first night (Sunday) when the shops were shut. It is not quite where it appears on the map, being just below the small square on the Via Miramare, where at this time of year we had no trouble parking. The small balcony lost the sun after the early morning in October, but probably gets more in the summer.
It is very well placed for exploring the coast from Maiore to Positano, and the road is astounding in more ways than one! Do rent the smallest car you can fit in to. We ended up prefering the bus service from opposite the Hotel Belvedere which is a 7-10 minute walk down the steps, which removed driving and parking worries and allowed both of us to enjoy the journey. Tickets must be bought in advance from the tobacconists in the village. Pompeii is close enough for a day-trip.
The highlight of the trip was arranged by Raffaele, a taxi to Marina di Praia, a private boat with 3 other couples for a circuit of Capri, four hours on the island where we walked to Villa Jovis and Giardini di Augusto, and then back along the Amalfi coast with a swim for those who wanted one. Not a huge amount more than ferries and parking would have been, and a totally different experience.
For eating out we enjoyed the simplicity and family feel of La Piazza da Nino in the village, Gidardiniello in Minori, and particularly Da Gemma in Amalfi. Everywhere we went was busy but not heaving, I suspect the high season would be hotter and more crowded than most would appreciate.
Finally a word for those with mobility problems, the villa is not far from the road, about 20 to 30 steps which are well-maintained, but if you are not fit enough to manage the steps that are the main way of getting about the towns you may feel rather left-out. Wheelchairs would be impossible and push-chairs for children would be impractical too.
Thank you for a lovely week
