Lovely property and really responsive hosts. Bed was very comfortable.Was difficult to get to the river via their property. Either overgrown or we both went the wrong way.Inside was spotless however we didn't have outside bath as leaves etc in it and just didn't have the energy to clean it. Is a remote location but perfect place for a whanau as massive lawn. The beach is wild and wonderful

As we are located on the coast, weather conditions can sometimes result in leaves, branches, and other natural debris being blown onto tracks or into the outdoor bath, which is unfortunately beyond our control. We strive to maintain the natural character of the property while keeping it clean and inviting, but from time-to-time nature has its own plans. 😊

The house was better than we expected with huge outdoor area and big rooms, lovely kitchen, bathroom and the bar area with dart board was an added bonus. We loved being close to the river and beach and not too far away from Hokitika for supplies. Being dog friendly meant the whole family could be on holiday together :)

Me and my family had a really great stay at Karen and Dean's house. Extremely clean, very comfortable, and plenty of small extras that make you go "Wow - these guys care about their guests and want them to have a memorable stay". It was well located for me and my family to explore the awesome West Coast of the South Island. A great spot to return to after long days of hiking, or driving. We even gave the fire-heated outdoor bath ago, and had an incredible experience at night viewing the stars. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Great place to enjoy your West Coast holiday

Excellent holiday home, everything there you’d ever want, and clean and tidy. Expansive lawns and garden make this a great place to relax. Nice beach about 2km down the road.

A quiet and wonderful retreat

The communication with the host was very friendly, very helpful and always quick. The house is absolutely wonderful and comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing stay in a beautiful surrounding.

Great Getaway
