About this property

Ritz on the River - Gorgeous Log Cabin in the Heart of Town and Along the Lake Fork of the Gunnison

Three Bedroom/Three Bathroom Home; Sleeps 10 - Located Close to Town.

Welcome to the Ritz on the River! This authentically designed two-story log cabin was designed in Chicago and erected at 500 N. Henson Street, just four blocks from the center of Lake City and easily within walking distance from the coffee shops, restaurants, bakery, sporting good stores, and shopping district. Elegantly furnishised with all of the amenities of home, this 3200 SF log cabin offers pristine views of the river and surrounding mountain ranges. The adjacent footbridge provides access to miles of walking and biking trails. Or just fish off the banks along the back yard. It's all right there. A well-equipped playground for family enjoyment is in the favorite city park nearby. This unique home is exquisite in every respect. The Ritz on the River is directly next door to the Mountain Memories Cabin, another property, which can be leased at the same time to house larger groups, sharing the expansive riverfront property with fire pit and gazebo.

On the first floor, large windows in the family seating areas provide a scenic view of the spacious backyard, pristine mountain peaks, and the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River. Access to the river allows for enjoyment of frequent fly-casting. The back deck, furnished with comfortable chairs, encourages relaxation and enjoyment of the mountainous views. In addtion, small or large groups can enjoy grilling outside on the back porch or roasting food around the fire pit near the river. The back yard entices frequent visitations by friendly, curious deer and local wildlife (don't feed the bears!). A dinner "catch" is within one hundred feet of the house. The downstairs master suite is furnished with a striking king-sized bed, luxury linens, and matching dresser accented with a flat-screen television. The adjoining master bath with spacious storage has a separate shower and a stand-alone claw-footed tub as well as a vanity with sink.

Additionally, upstairs you will find two large, beautifully decorated bedrooms furnished with queen-sized beds and matching dressers. Both rooms have large walk-in closets and convenient private in-room sink lavatories. Adjacent to the south bedroom is a full size bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink.

Separating the two bedrooms upstairs is an expansive "great room" suitable for recreation and/or sleeping. It is furnished with a queen/long twin log bunkbed, sofa hide-a-bed, and a matching extra-wide chair which also doubles for a single bed. The area is complemented with a flat-screen television, foosball table, and a large table for playing games, working on puzzles, or enjoying various projects.

The open area between the upstairs bedrooms overlooks the kitchen, living, and dining areas below. The expansive balcony provides another magnificent view of the outside landscape.

Downstairs on the ground level, the beautiful, well-equipped kitchen will delight any chef. The gourmet kitchen is completely appointed with electric cooktop, oven, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, disposer, Keurig, baker's oven, crock pot, sandwich maker, and pots and pans galore. You'll even have several sets of china to choose from! A large assortment of cookware, myriad cooking utensils, and vast array of china dishes and crystal stemware provide the basics for entertanining or an intimate family meal. An additional table in the kitchen seats three. The kitchen opens to the adjacent dining area with table place settings for eight. Proximity makes serving a meal easy and accessble, even to family and friends on the outside veranda.

Adjoining the dining area are two living areas with seating on plush sofas and chairs to accommodate twelve or more people. One is configured for intimate conversations, reading, or relaxing, and the second seating area includes sofa and chairs surround another large flat-screen television. The two areas make great gathering places for meals, socials, relaxation, and entertainment.

Adjacent to this residence is a walking bridge over the river. It connects miles of walking and biking trails along the river and Henson Creek. With fishing access to the river, expansive mountain views, and wildlife watching, this cabin and its location provider opportunities for a GREAT COLORADO VACATION!

Wonderful Stay!
This is our second year coming to Lake City and this was once again a wonderful vacation with friends and family. This house was PERFECT for our group: we had ourselves and another family stay here and it worked perfectly with plenty of room for all of us. The house itself was well stocked and in the most perfect location. We had access to the creek, firepit, the walking/biking bridge and trails and so easy to just walk into town. Highly recommend staying here! We loved it so much I asked to stay an additional night and it was the easiest thing to do. Will stay here again!

Amazing property
Beautiful "cabin" close to everything in Lake City. Lovely listening to the river out the windows, being able to walk downtown in moments, across the bridge and onto the nature trails in seconds, and all of the homey touches inside like nice quilts and beautiful furnishings really make you never want to leave. Upstairs bedrooms both have sinks in them which was nice, but do note the two bedrooms and the bunk beds upstairs just share one bathroom. So if that could be an issue for your group just note that. We made it work with no problem for both sets of grandparents and three of us. Look forward to going back!

Beautiful Home on The River
This was our second stay to this property in the last three years- the home is well furnished and a short walk to town. There were three couples in our group and we each had our own room with a sink- the two couples upstairs had to share toilet/batch facilities so it was a bit crowded at times- could probably use another full bath just for privacy. There is no AC in this home, but the weather was cool the week we were in town (8.14 through 8.20) so we just opened the windows and were all comfortable. Great location for those who are looking to ride trails on ATVs- quick access to everything you need.

An amazing week in Lake City!
What a wonderful week! We loved our stay at Ritz on the River and in Lake City. We used to live in Denver but never made it to this part of the state. Wow! We have found our new favorite mountain town and can’t wait to come back. The cabin was beautiful and very well stocked. Our whole family (ages 2-62!) enjoyed it and we had plenty of space for everyone. Loved the walkability to downtown and the large outdoor space to relax next to the river. Highly recommend this place for a wonderful vacation!
