House nice with a lot of rules
Overall the house is lovely and had everything we needed. The space out the back is great. It is close to The Mount and the beach. Check in and out was easy.
The only drawback from our stay was the number of rules that are revealed at new levels of detail through the booking process and when you turn up at the property. They do not help one relax easily and made us a bit more critical of the property on things we would have normally written off. You can tell they have had a bad experience but haven’t yet found the right balance to communicate their misgivings. There is a bespoke star rating which is pushed it could be seen as vaguely funny but does not hit the mark.
Things I wasn’t aware of when first looking at the listing that could be useful to others are; the house is down a hill and the door is at the back of the house. The no smoking rule is both inside and outside. There are some small steps into the house and a small step into the bathroom. You can not see the road from the house.
The property was ideal for us and our two dogs. Well fenced off for our fur babies and within walking distance to the bars, restaurants and beach access. There was even a park reserve we were able to take our dogs to for a run around. Very quiet location and although there was no parking on site, the off street parking was just as good and accessible at all times. The host Kylie was wonderful making the check-in and check-out process seamless. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Impeccably clean. No ‘precious objects’ adorning the place that my kids would break. Dog friendly (my dog isn’t a jumper but the fence wouldn’t keep a younger dog in - perfect for us). Short, flat walk to the beach. Owners have thought of everything you would need - even some beach toys for kids to use while we were there. Warm outside shower. Stove could use a range hood but I can’t think of anything else I’d change. Loved it. Will be back.
I chose this property as it had an outside area and bbq which was instantly appealing with kids. Equiped with what we needed, some additional toys and a highchair would have been great but no biggie.
Would definitely come back
