Absolute Beachfront Adventure Bay

The White House is a charming three-bedroom beachfront cottage nestled just across from the sand and lapping waves of Adventure Bay. This classic cottage is ideal for families, groups or a couple and is the perfect nest to escape, unwind and rejuvenate. Enjoy the unique vistas and attractions only Bruny Island offers, fine wine, oysters, and spectacular local produce. Watch the prolific birdlife, dolphins or whales, or the ever-changing skyscape.

Let the sound of the waves relax you at the White House on Adventure Bay. Perfectly located at the quiet corner end of the bay, the White House has a large garden with stunning views over the water and yet only three doors from the delightful Mari Bruny coffee shop / restaurant, and the well-stocked local store. Stroll the white sand of the beach, swim for the brave, go fishing, or enjoy the many magnificent hiking trails. Our favourite is the walk over Fluted Cape.

The cottage has a fresh contemporary décor and bathroom, and features a fully equipped dine-in kitchen, fridge, stove, microwave and outdoor BBQ if you wish to self-cater. This cosy three-bedroom beach cottage has two comfortable queen beds and a double bed in the sleep-out making it ideal for families or groups.

The indoor fireplace is the perfect spot to snuggle up with a book or enjoy some evening board games with friends and family.

Enjoy a glass of wine on the front veranda and take in the breathtaking unobstructed views into the bay and the hills beyond.

Try your luck fishing from the beach, dinghy or nearby rocks. There is a boat launching ramp nearby.

Facilities include Air Conditioning / Heating, and TV. Quality linen, and towels included. There is also an internal laundry with washer and dryer.

January 2024 - Have just returned from a delightful week at the White House. Bruny is buzzing and better than ever. Freshly baked artisanal woodfired sourdough is sold an on honour system from the side of the Bruny Island Main Road (B66) near Alonnah (The Bruny Baker Bread Fridge).

The Cottage is in great shape and has had a total makeover. Evening meals are available at Mari Bruny, Hotel Bruny year round, and thee Adventure Bay Bowls Club (Fri / Sat evenings). Mari Cafe is around a minutes walk away, with consistently good food and coffee.

We love the morning tea and raspberry jam scones, at the Raspberry Farm on Lockleys Road, a three minute drive from the White House. We were so impressed we bought jam to bring home.

Yes Drive Car Rentals allow their vehicles to use the ferry and come to Bruny Island. Just mention my name when making a booking.

Great location, comfortable stay

This property has everything we needed to enjoy a laid back and relaxing holiday. It's prime location makes it convenient to access some of the best parts of the island including the fluted capes walk. Good fishing too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed, the general store and cafe were very close by and the beach was right across the road. I Couldn't ask for more.

Beautiful Bruny

We loved the location, 3 doors down to the cafe and general store, and right across the road from a stunning beach. Had everything we needed and comfy beds. We hope to come back, so many bays and beaches to explore.

Perfect relaxing adventure!

Such an incredible place to stay… You can have as much adventure as you want or it’s also the perfect place just to sit on the front porch to do some work if you have to (I did), and listen to the waves as you drink your coffee or wine!Super clean, super convenient, awesome shower…South Bruny has become a favorite spot and we will definitely be back to this house!

Adventure Bay January stay

Excellent location and amenities, central to everything. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Beach just across the road, and the general store is less than 100 metres away. Fishing off the beach was a bit meh (nothing big enough to keep), but who cares... it was so refreshing to wake up to the sound of surf every day. The view from the kitchen window - priceless. And a couple of times we practically had the beach to ourselves. Well worth the stay.

The White House

The White House is a great spot to relax and unwind. It has everything you need, beautifully presented, The beach across the road for that morning stroll, shop 2 doors down. Plenty of walking tracks, Petticott Tours for the amazing Bruny experience, wine, oysters, whiskey, chocolate and cheese, fishing… what more could you ask for. Fabulous -the memories of this place will stay with mefor a long time

This beautiful freshly renovated little cottage is across the road from the most amazing beach. It is so peaceful. There is a little general store a few shops down, and then a little bowls club a few doors down from there. It is like a little fishing village one would write about in a novel. The cottage has cosy things like electric blankets, heaters and an aircon. And extremely clean! I saw the most beautiful sunrises, and the beach is a long one so you can have a good stroll, And then there is another stunning beach around the corner. Waves aren't huge but spectacular.

Great Bruny base

The White House was a fantastic base for us to explore the delights of Bruny Island. It's in a ideal location for trail running, gravel bike riding or enjoying the beach. The house is super comfortable with plenty of room a great outdoor dinning area, a nice kitchen and very nice bathroom.
