About this property

Oasis on the Lake 5 Bedroom cottage

Our renovated dog-friendly cottage is on scenic Rice Lake facing east on the lake to catch the beautiful sunrise and west on the rest of the property with plenty of sun and also shade from the beautiful trees. At 2000 sq. ft., it is spacious and easily sleeps 14 people, which is the maximum number that we allow.
Two bedrooms with Queen beds and Two bedrooms with a Double/Twin bunk bed, and one bedroom with two bunk beds.
Spend your day at your own private waterfront with shallow water entry for swimming so everyone will have a blast. Children will love using our many water toys. And a boat slip if you decide to bring your own water toy.
Read or relax by the shore watching ducks go by, or if you're hooked on Netflix, know that the cottage has a 55” smart TV with wi-fi included. You can also lounge on the dock while taking in the beautiful view or cast a line to test your luck. Go ahead and take the kayak for a spin or test your balance on the paddleboard.
Enjoy the large deck facing the lake with a family-sized dining table for ten to enjoy and also great for that morning coffee or your BBQ lunch. The large dock near the water is great for reading and watching the kids.
During the evening, gather the family around the fire pit and enjoy marshmallows.
You will love the grand dinning table overlooking the water that will accommodate 10 People in one seating.

There are two cottages of the property, so extra big families and friends can enjoy together, the second cottage is a two bedroom, look for it under the same address and can be booked together based on availability. If booked together by the same family/friends please let me know and I will offer a discount on the second cottage so you can enjoy together. Each cottage has it's own private deck, front/back yard

The Owners Made All the Difference!

Our stay would have been wonderful, but was made excellent and memoriable because of the attention and thoughtfulness of the owners. They were always ready to answer questions and to make our stay so relaxing and refreshing! Kids loved fishing and swimming and there was plenty of room so everyone could have their won space when needed. Sitting by the water was so peaceful and relaxing as well. Thank you for as the kids said, providing a place that will go down as a favourite vacation of the summer 2022!!

Family weekend getaway

Thank you for sharing your cottage with our family. The grandchildren enjoyed the water immensely. Our 5 year old granddaughter was so excited to catch her first ever fish from the dock. The adults loved the kayak and paddle board that was available. Everything that we needed for a enjoyable family getaway was available for us Owner was very quick with responses to any questions that we had. Owners left detailed information about the area. Would highly recommend this location for a peaceful getaway.

Inaccurate listing and mechanical breakdown, Poor A/C Performance

We were excited about our stay at Rice Lake! But the house had a few problems and it made our stay less enjoyable. The small A/C unit is located in the living room area and not in the bedrooms. So every night was hot, and unable to cool the rooms properly. Second problem was the washer failed on the 2nd day of our stay and the owners did not fix the problem. They sent out someone to tell us they're working on purchasing a new washer but this forced us to go to the another laundry. It also smelled of pets and improper cleaning after a pets stay. I'm not happy with the response time and lack of care for us during our stay. The location was ok but the listing didn't mention that the waterfront is shared with another house. It pains me to say this but I would not recommend this house to my friends because of the poor service and general lack of proper response from the owners.

Dear Merle, I’m so sorry you feel this way, I responded within one hour after your dad contacted me regarding the laundry machine. Unfortunately that happened during the long weekend when I could not find as hard as I tried a technician to come and look at it. By the time the technician came and told me it was not fixable and I had to order a new one it was not timely possibly to do it while you ware still there. I apologized to your father for the inconvenience, it never happened before but sometimes things break. Regarding the waterfront, the property it’s not shared with a different house, there are two cottages on the property as listed however the whole waterfront belongs to the cottage. I have provided big fans for the bedroom as when the weather is extremely hot the AC can’t keep up holding the cottage at really low temperatures. I am again really sorry you did not enjoy your stay and really hope you can give us a chance again. Have a great rest of the summer.

Relaxing and thoughtful

Ioana was a super responsive host and it meant a lot to us. We felt very welcomed and taken care of. Every little detail was taken care of and made the stay very easy. It would be great to get a visitor guide to understand what else is available in the area. Otherwise, all was great and we appreciate the stay!
