Take a 9-block stroll south, down to Lake Michigan, or 4 blocks west to local restaurants. House is cute and well cleaned. We had fun being here because all the places we wanted to visit was not to far. The only complaint we have is the up stairs room get very hot, even with the fans they provided.

We enjoyed staying there. The house was very clean, comfortable, and plenty of space. Very nice front porch. We talked to some neighbors who were very friendly and provided some additional thoughts on some great things to do in the area.

The property is well maintained and close to the downtown area with cute shops and dining. It has a cozy front porch to enjoy the sunsets. The town has a nice lakefront and walking path. The only downside of the property is the 24 hour surveillance from a property next door.

Magdalena, we're glad that overall you had a good stay and enjoyed the town. We hope that you come back again.
This listing is really so cute. It seemed small from the outside but we found it very roomy with plenty of space to spread out inside. VERY clean and stocked with all we needed. Beds were new and comfortable. Really loved the creaftmanship and the vintage feel of the home. We will definitely stay here again. Loved the house! (did not love the couch so much...would politely suggest replacing but that is the only drawback of the entire house)

We are foster parents and needed to come to town for a hockey tournament. The cost of 2 hotel rooms to fit our family was double the cost of renting this amazing little house, enough beds amd space for us all the have a comfortable time. Beds were so comfortable we slept like babies! Played games at the table, cooked meals as a family and everyone had a great time making memories. Living room furniture was not super cozy- only negative!

My three friends and I came from Marquette and Gladstone to spend a weekend in Manistique, shopping, eating, and catching the Halloween showing at the drive-in. The sweet little bungalow on Terrace was the perfect home base. We all live in and are crazy about old houses, and we were not disappointed! The home was clean, comfortable, and oh-so-charming!! I found myself dreaming of living there ☺️.

Charming old home with lots of character. The home had everything we needed. The bedrooms were comfy and spacious. Kitchen was well stocked and enjoyable to use. Lots of natural light throughout the home. Plenty of parking space . A very nice neighborhood close to everything. Centrally located to all the upper peninsula has to offer. We enjoyed our stay and our pup did too. Thank you.

Stayed 30 days for work. The house was big enough for myself and my co-worker. The property manager was extremely quick to respond when a problem with the dryer arose, and sent someone immediately. The couch is unbelievably uncomfortable! Infact, I bought a recliner off FB Marketplace to sit in while i was there, and then donated it when I left. The house is old and has charm, including a very noisy staircase.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay at the Terrace House for a second time! I’m glad we were able to get the dryer fixed promptly during your visit.
You’ll be happy to know that the property owner has replaced the couch — comfort definitely wins over style this time! We also appreciate the addition of the recliner; what a great touch.
Thank you again for sharing your feedback. We truly value your continued trust in us.

Having both grown up in houses built in the 19th and early 20th centuries, my wife and I felt very comfortable in this house. The amenities were sufficient to our needs, and the view of the neighborhood satisfying.
The only thing I would recommend to the owners is to provide furniture in the living room consistent with the era the house was built. A large, overstuffed couch would have been more comfortable.

Richard, houses built in the 19th and early 20th centuries have their own kind of charm, and we are glad that you appreciated it. Thank you for your feedback. We will be certain that the owner sees it. You were great guests, and we hope to work with you again. -Claire, FVR
We loved the location in the upper peninsula as we could do day trips. Jacks Supermarket is 4 minutes away. By far, the nicest supermarket I have ever seen! ( And I've seen many). The kitchen and bathroom were modern but the rest of the house was Victorian! I loved it! It was very well maintained! Lawn needed cutting but the house was very clean!! We recommend this place to anyone!!

Janet, we're happy to hear that you loved the location, and that the cottage worked out well for you. Thank you for your recommendation and for your feedback. We hope to work with you again.
At first (when I walked in) wasn’t sure about the place but it’s SO CLEAN and by the end of our long weekend this charming house full of character really grew on me. It is within walking distance to the start of the boardwalk/beach. I did love it. The salt shaker is broken - so it pours salt on your food lol (I forgot to tell them that hopefully they read this and get a new one . the property managers are SO attentive as well. When I first got there and was checking in on the tablet it asked me my first impression and it smelled alittle musty (I think from being closed up because it was not a problem AT ALL during our stay) so I mentioned that not thinking much of it and they called me within 30 minutes about that comment offering to come bring plug ins or anything to make me happier! I was surprised and thought that was very impressive ! (Plug ins etc was not needed) this is a very homey home up kinda on a hill. Quiet- VERY nice !

Terrace House fit our needs great. Perfect location- could walk to main Downtown area in Manistique. The house was cozy and nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The only reason I gave four stars overall was because the upstairs got quite warm. Michigan summer months can get pretty hot and I think it would be beneficial to guests to have a small window unit in one of the upstairs bedrooms to cool it down. The main level had a small A/C unit that worked nicely but even with fans attempting to move the cooler air around, it did not really cool the upper level down.

MaryBeth, we're glad that you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your feedback and hope that you come back again.
Terrace Place is a lovely older home in a quiet and nice town on Lake Michigan. The kitchen and bathroom were nicely updated. We knew there was no air conditioning, which is fine, since Lake Michigan is a natural air conditioner. However upon arrival for our five day stay we discovered that all the windows in the house, except for 4, did NOT open nor have screens. This fact was not in the listing and very disappointing. A house must have windows that open and permanent screens. The front porch was wonderful, but only 2 chairs, not enough for our family of six. Also no outdoor eating table and chairs. Finally, the propane tank on the gas grill ran out in 10 minutes with no back up around. We would recommend this house for a summer family vacation when the windows and outside area are rectified. For the price of this rental we expected a little better.

Mary, I sincerely appreciate your feedback. You are right, Terrace Place is a lovely, older home in the small town of Manistique. I love the updates to the kitchen and bathroom too. You are right-- Lake Michigan does tend to be a natural air conditioner!
You make a very valid point about all the windows not having screens on them. I have updated the VRBO ad as a result of your experience.
I am also working with the property owners to not only improve the screens, yet to add additional outdoor seating to comfortably seat as many people as Terrace House sleeps (6).
I'm surprised to hear your comment about the propane tank. The 1st we heard about the propane tank running out was at 1:10pm, the day prior to your departure. We asked if we could send another one out to you and you told us not to worry about it.
I'm sorry your stay fell short of your expectations. We will continue to make improvements to Terrace House.
We wish you and your family well in your future travels.
Sincerely,
Cara

Very nice “craftsman” style house that has kitchen and bathroom remodel. Unfortunately the remodel was done inexpensively and that shows.! As in bath vanity sink faucet barely reaches the sink bowl causing water to splash to the back and tub spout is ready to fall off! Not having any counter space near the stove was inconvenient and sparse for night stands and USB outlets! Worst was that we were there during the melt and there is no gravel to park on..just MUD! We did have a nice visit and would do it again!
