It was perfect for our few day getaway to Pittsburgh. The area has a small town feel in the city with coffee shops and other businesses within walking distance.

We stayed here during a visit to the University of Pittsburgh. The location was an easy 10 minutes away and very convenient. Parking was available out front on the street and there was a private spot behind the house. The alley to access the parking is tight, if you have a larger vehicle its challenging, especially when the neighbors are in their spots next to and across from the parking. If you are using the back deck to eat or hang out, be prepared for people to walk back and forth through the space. Its kind of intrusive but it is listed as shared so make sure you understand that. The bedrooms are in the basement and the stairs and ceiling height can be challenging.It's a 30 second walk to Walnut St. that's what attracted us to the property. Great options for restaurants and shopping. The deck space was terrific and we spent a lot of time there.The house was nice, but needs some TLC. The back gate does not close so if its windy or your neighbors don't force it closed its a security issue. The back deck has been poorly repaired creating a tripping hazard. If you plan on cooking, the kitchen is lacking plates, cooking ware, dish towels and decent knives to cut or chop. We had no wifi during our visit due too a broken cable from a prior guest. We notified the host as soon as we arrived on Friday, it was not addressed until Sunday afternoon. I think they just need to run through the space, do an inventory of items and refresh. It would make a big difference for guests.

Great location, clean and ease of checking in and out. We had our dog with us and there really was no convenient area to take him to the bathroom. Overall good experience.

Quick trip to Pittsburgh

We love this location! The place has everything we need and is clean and comfortable. We bring our small dogs with us.. it is a very dog-friendly area! Will come back!

This property is in a great location with an easy walk to Walnut Street and its shopping and restaurants. There are other places within a good driving distance and many attractions close by.The stairs leading down to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, but have good tread and a solid railing. The only drawback to the downstairs is that the bathroom is in one of the bedrooms, not able to be used by the occupants of the other bedroom, who have to go upstairs to use the bathroom.The host is very responsive and has very good communication regarding the check-in process. We would recommend this property to someone looking for a place to stay in Shadyside.

Property was a little on the smaller side especially the bedrooms which are in the basement level. Living room was beautiful and the location was fabulous. Within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. However upon arrival the property was not completely clean. Candy bag was half eaten on the counter and garbage was also visible. Looked like it was in process of being cleaned. Sweeper was emptied in the garbage along with other garbage so unfortunately property was not clean upon our arrival. We paid the cleaning fee?

Not a 2 Bedroom 2 bath

The listing for this property left out very important information about the “bedrooms.” The bedrooms were actually located in the basement, down a narrow set of stairs and low ceiling. My husband is 6’3” and had to duck both down the stairs and in the sleeping area. Also we are an older couple so the stairway was challenging. Anyway the “bedroom”that actually had a bed in it did not have a door. The second “bedroom” also did not have a door and was more like a sitting area with a pull out bed. (The number of pullouts/futons was accurate). The listing should be updated to explain the location of the bedrooms because neither the listing nor the photos indicate a basement location.

Shadyside gem!

We loved this house. I wish we would have rented both units, but it was big enough for two of us and a small dog. It is well-appointed with thoughtful touches. You cannot beat the location, as Walnut street is literally right there, and you have your pick of restaurants and shops, and the neighborhood is safe and great for walking. Close proximity to CMU and Pitt, it was within walking distance for our son, who lives in North Oakland. The communication details on the property and having everything you need were SO appreciated. We would have rented it again for Pitt's graduation if it had been available! :-) Highly recommend this location/owner.

Very comfortable, clean and so convenient. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Short drive to the heart of Pittsburgh!

I was able to book the entire house, both spaces, for my friends and I for a trip to Pittsburgh. The home exceeded our expectations! We were all very comfortable and clean. We were pleasantly surprised with all the smart features and how accessible the host was to answer questions. It was less than a 2 minute walk to Starbucks which we enjoyed on our private porch before lunch at Cappy's. We rarely used the car, but it was so nice to have a parking spot. We will definitely be back!
