Thanks again Maureen,
It was nice meeting you and who knows maybe I'll see you again.
I'll be in Tawharanui peninsula, east of Warkworth on the 14th of March.
Don't remember when you leave NZ.
All the best.

This place is a treasure! On top of a hill with AMAZING views, great hiking trails and yet still accesible to wonderful restaurants, tours in the bay and shopping [ groceries too!] The house has all you need and the hosts are helpful, wonderful and kind. We were enchanted. LOVED our stay.

This was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful bush/sea view and enjoy the sounds of the native birdlife. The ground coffee each morning was great too.
Adeline was as very welcoming and attentive host. She kept us in supply freshly ground coffee and lent her red light torch for Kiwi spotting. The traditional NZ bach, is ideal for getting away from all the mod cons and just getting back to basics. It is well located to Russell township and the Opua ferry. Highly recommend if you are looking for a different experience to the polished hotels.

We had a very special stay here. The home was very clean and amenities were more than adequate. Being located at the top of a hill, it provided us with spectacular views and stunning sunsets. Our days were mostly spent hiking or in Russell, where we had once in a lifetime boat tours and our pick of which beach to park ourselves on. Mornings and evenings were spent watching the quail pass by our cabin. We listened to the kiwi at night…don’t hear that too often in Canada!
Our hostess was engaging, super accommodating and very helpful. The king sized bed was a luxury.
We loved our stay here! It was so lovely waking up surrounded by birds and trees, with a gorgeous view of the water. We enjoyed the walk to town via tracks off the property exploring the surrounding hills.Russel was a great town to stay in for a few days. Access to surrounding areas was easy and Long Beach was great day in the sun.The cabin is well equipped with everything we could have needed! We made a meal at home one night but also loved exploring the local bars and restaurants. Would absolutely recommend this accommodation and would love to go back again.

Very friendly property managers, easy going, Nicely renewed Bach, some small improvements were still ongoing.
This place has an amazing view and is on a spacious property that you can hike up to and even more amazing view. The bach itself was tidy and clean and had all the amenities that you need. I would recommend bug spray because it's surrounded by native bush and it keeps the area cool. You're definitely going to want to hang out outside because it's so gorgeous. Every breakfast I watched a Weka pass by with it's little chick! It's located a quick car ride to the town center but removed enough so that it was so peaceful.
Adaline and Andy were the most helpful hosts I have ever met. They made sure we were comfortable when we checked in and to see our interests for our stay in order to give us local advice. They suggested a great place for surfing close by and called their friends to get the real surf report for our next destination. They were so warm and I felt that I could reach out to them at any time if I were to need anything.
Next time we are in Russell I hope this place will be available because they made our stay just absolutely perfect!
We are a couple of kiwi / french. We met in New Caledonia about 8 years ago. Working for SailGP give us the opportunities of traveling in differents countries, we love it. Russell is our home and we like to come back there.
