Great getaway

Great weekend, getaway place, wonderful deck, super comfortable beds, and a great gathering place for friends. Future guests should bring bottled water to make the place even more comfortable.

Probably the biggest deck in Pismo resides at this property. Absolutely huge and a complete view of the town. The living room is equally big and open.As advertised, the place has a '70s retro feel. Not the avocado green appliance '70s, but all the latest gadgets and cool things from the era. There is even an in-wall toaster! The bedrooms also have overhead lights and one of the coolest fans I have ever seen. The blades are retractable and hidden. Didn't even know they were there until we pushed a button.Communication was very good and, when we had an issue with the master bathroom shower cable, someone came over quickly. The hand-held shower cable is pulled out of the Jacuzzi unit and can get twisted so it binds up and doesn't extend enough. Just twist it if this happens to you.All-in-all this was a very unique and terrific property ran professionally. If you have a larger gathering, I would not hesitate to book this spot.

Close to everything

We enjoyed the house and location. It was comfortable and centrally located to all our weekend destinations. Wasn’t crazy about the walk in tub, but some might appreciate it.

Great place for grad weekend

We enjoyed the 70's touches and the house was really comfortable. The deck was a great place to spend mornings and evenings. My only two suggestions would be to clean the deck a little more and please replace the standup tub in the master bedroom.

Sister Calibration of Life

Our family enjoyed our stay tremendously. The location was ideal for our needs which was close to the church and Arroyo Grande Cemetery. The only issue we had was the shower in master bathroom which was very difficult for my wife and I to use.Other than that this is a great place.

Residential home verses hotel

Loved the privacy of a home and the location. Huge house with lots of space. Of course, beautiful deck and view. Just have to “tune out “ road noise from freeway. It is definitely a “70s house “ and could use some maintenance. However, it is acceptable and CUTE. We had a wonderful time.

Good time

Although we enjoyed our stay , it would have been perfect had the toilet in the master bathroom was working properly! We had to wait a day for the problem to be corrected. Also the furniture was a bit low for people who are taller.

That 70,s house needs to update the dial-up internet connection

The stay was very comfortable and definitely was 70s as advertised. Everything was wonderful except for the Internet connection. It would buffer every five minutes and provided a very frustrating stay as we wanted to watch some movies and other things. The overall state was great with the Internet I worked.

Nice views but Invasion of Privacy

House was great and clean. Check in was easy. The kitchen was well equipped, and bedrooms were spacious. The deck views were amazing, had awesome heating elements and furniture; however, the deck needs some attention to spider webs, rotting wood, and privacy. The listing said the Ring cameras were in the front of house but there is also one on the deck in the hang out area and the owners refused to turn it off why we were there. This is invasion of privacy.

Beautiful, spacious home with electrical problems. We were getting ready for a wedding on Saturday, 8/8 and upon using our hair dryer, the power went out. I called Ana, who I found out is not the owner, but property manager. She directed us to the electrical panel, but had no insight on what to do or offer any help; she stated she was 45 minutes away. This was about 1:30PM. I received an email from Ana at 10PM informing me that the owners stated it is an old house and to flip the circuits. We did that earlier and again upon their request, still nothing. We did not have backup lights, generator, nothing to resume our stay the way it was supposed to be. Due to no power in bathrooms, master bedroom or TV area, we left a little earlier. I emailed Ana to let her know, she emailed back that she was on her way to the house and to see what she could do regarding a refund. Owner approved 96 for our day, 8/8 and morning of 8/9 when we paid over 1000? I spoke to Ana upon learning of approval and she stated I was talking to the wrong person, I need to handle this with someone else. Please be aware and ask questions before booking. Too bad a beautiful home turned into “a dark dungeon.”

Big, roomy house; great deck, view, & location. But many things fell short. On VRBO website, the messages came from "Evolve, with help from AI," which I found off-putting. The AI couldn't give much info. & gave the name of a point person, who was kind and tried to be helpful, but she was with the cleaning service and couldn't answer many questions since she wasn't the owner & when she tried to contact them, it took a long time and still didn't get full answers, partly because the owner was out of town. No A/C so hot and stuffy without windows open, but only some had screens. The living room & one bedroom had ceiling fans, but not the other 2 bedrooms, including the master. Thermostat is controlled by the owner!? Ice maker was empty and not working when we arrived & the contact didn't know anything, so I used YouTube to figure out how to reset it. Generally clean but cobwebs in at least 1 bedroom and some glassware was dirty or cracked. Weird wall toaster didn’t seem to work & bread got stuck. No house manual. I nearly concussed myself walking into a glass door between the master and sunroom. And the showers are ridiculous! Master shower has almost NO room to move at all due to a weird swinging door, a high seat thing, & shower head that is hard to adjust in a useful direction. Showerhead in guest bath is super low so impossible to stand under for anyone over 5' or so.
