This is hands-down the best experience I’ve ever had. The property is in the best location for Chautauqua Lake. It is walking distance to everything you could possibly want to do, including restaurants, shopping, and recreation. It is a very short 10 minute drive to the Chautauqua institution if that is one of the reasons you are visiting. It is about a 20 minute drive to Lilydale. And about a 20 minute drive to Barcelona Beach. Ken, the host, could not possibly have been more accommodating or friendly! He truly made the experience remarkable. We will definitely be back!

Top notch communication, but should be listed as a basement studio

The location of this building is amazing. You can walk to all the hot spots in Bemus within minutes. As for the studio, the amount of space worked well for my family of 4 with two little ones. I do wish I would have known it was the basement of the house. Basements can be musty and hard to dry the floors were constantly sticky and dirty we did our best to combat that with the air conditioner to get air movement. If you are planning to use the futon couch as a bed I suggest you bring an air mattress to lay on instead there's a big bar in the middle that is quite uncomfortable. Communication and texts from the owner were great. When I asked about the protocol for the shared laundry he responded quickly. It worked for us, but for our yearly Bemus trip we will find another place that is not a basement.

Hi Sheryl, we’re so glad you enjoyed the location, but we’re sorry other aspects fell short of expectations. After sending your feedback to the owner, they’d like to share the following: - The studio is on the ground floor of the home, not to be confused with the basement. We're sorry if this caught you off-guard. - There is a dehumidifier in the home to help with the musty air and stickiness that can occur from humidity. - We use a professional cleaning company to ensure that the home is cleaned and sanitized between guests. The local contact does a video walk-through of the home before arrivals and we are confident that the home met our high cleanliness standards before your check-in. - Hopefully you enjoyed your stay despite any issues. We truly go above and beyond and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
