The home is a beautiful retreat and Pirate's Cove offers outstanding amenities. Unfortunately, the visitors' pool and tennis court were unavailable during our stay. Will an amenities fee refund be offered?

The home was very inviting and cozy.We enjoyed the view of the sound and the bridge to Nags Head. Everything was as it should be for the first time. We plan to stay at the Captains Quarters again in the future.

One of the best rental experiences for us to date. The condo was completely updated and very nicely decorated. Small details like full length mirrors behind the bedroom doors, quality drapes, pillows, furniture, and linens took the rental up several notches. There were games and nice dishes in the cabinets. Know that this rental does not offer any additional convenience items (only a small starter set) so you will need to shop in town for any additional things you will need (no laundry detergent). The neighborhood of Pirates Cove is adorable and very well maintained and we felt extremely safe there. We walked thru the area boardwalks with water views everywhere. The condo next door was under construction, and we lost power for some time but overall, the experience was very positive and enjoyable. The area is especially good for family reunions as families can also rent larger houses up the road within the same neighborhood. We did not use the fitness center (although it was nice and open to renters). There is also a very nice playground.

Great Condo, but Communication Needs WorkWe had a great stay at this condo—it was clean, well-maintained, and in a fantastic location. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook, which was a huge plus. The unit was comfortable overall, but a few extra amenities would have made it even better: more towels, sheets and blankets for the sleeper sofa, and a thicker blanket for the main bed in case anyone gets cold with the AC on.Unfortunately, communication with the property manager/realtor was disappointing. We tried reaching out multiple times—both by phone and through VRBO—months in advance to ask questions and see about extending our trip, but never got a response. We also wanted to bring our boat but couldn’t get the information we needed, so we had to leave it behind. That lack of communication was frustrating and definitely impacted our experience.Overall, the condo itself is great, but better responsiveness from the management would really improve the rental experience.

This is a beautiful property in a central location to just about everything in a beautiful gated community. We did not use the boat dock so cannot tell you about that. Enjoyed watching the boats on the sound. The pool is very nice. The deck is a lovely way to spend time reading and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom. Found it was better to text Village Reality then call for questions.
