Serenity Bay Studio #3

In addition to the Big House on our property, we have a 4-plex, with four studio apartments. Two face the water, two face the street. Serenity #3 is a water facing one bedroom studio apartment. With a king sized bed, kitchen with large convection oven, two burner cook-top, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. A bathroom with an over-sized stall shower. Relax and watch the gorgeous sunset from your deck, just steps away from the sea wall and fire pit. This unit is about 250 sq. ft. Includes towels, linens, dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans. Air condition is through a wall unit. 24-inch Smart tv, with commercial free Hulu Plus. NBC, ABC, and CBS as well as local channels via antennae. No cable in the fourplex, only in the Big House, which is listed as Serenity Bay.

Charming Place

Charming and clean. Great location...loved the water views. There was a bit of a snag with check in, but Sharon took care of it immediately.

Matlacha in 3 Days

It was a great location. Walking distance to all the shops and many of the restaurants. The info book in the room was immensely helpful. I made a list of all the places I wanted to see in the time I had and then followed that list. I was pleasantly surprised by being right on the water in this unit. If interested in history I recommend the Museum of the Islands in Pine City

Unique Experience

Overall, we loved Sharon's property. The studio room was exactly as pictured, with a small kitchenette. The bed was VERY comfortable. We enjoyed use of the kayaks and the beach chairs. My husband caught Mangrove Snappers off the dock. Matlacha is a darling community with art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants. My favorites were Leoma Lovegrove's Gallery and Wildchild Gallery. Sharon and her husband were very responsive to a few maintenance issues we had. My only challenge in this area were the no-see-um insects. Due to the mangroves, they are prevalent at dusk, and I have a strong reaction to them.

Peaceful mornings on the water!

Sharon the owner was excellent and wanted to know if we found any problems from the start. It was so peaceful and relaxing to enjoy our mornings sitting at the waters edge and waiting for the dolphins to come by.

Beautiful water view - relaxing town - great restaurants

We stayed in unit 3, we had a great view of the water. The unit had everything we needed. There is a lot of traffic in town but it quiets down significantly at night so it wasn’t an issue at at for sleeping. Sharon is very helpful if there’s anything you need.

Nice!

Did have two experiences with a cockroach- first day and last day. Said they had sprayed for them. Fun people for neighbors!

Hi, thank you for your feedback. But please, cockroach?!? I explained that they are palmetto bugs, they live in Palm trees, are twice the size of a cockroach, and sometimes they make their way inside sometimes but will die because we DO have pest control. We DO NOT have cockroaches AT ALL! We are a super clean property and have pest control because Florida is full of all sorts of bugs. Cockroaches are an infestation of roaches in places that are dirty. Reviews are everything to us, stating we have cockroaches is cruel and unnecessary, and down right FALSE!

Great little getaway

Matlacha is known for cute little bungalows...and this fits the bill! Nice place on the water & walking distance from everything. Sharon was great and everything went smoothly.

Retreat and close to everything!

Sharon is a wonderful host and property owner. Super responsive to any request. The unit is well furnished and super clean, as are the grounds. Kayaks a great plus!

My Dad and Mom purchased this property to be used as a family spot for our large family. My Mom spent winters out here with my Dad, eventually, they began renting rooms. My Mom passed away in 2009 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. I had been living in Northern Ca. for over 15 years, had gone to Chiropractic school in San Jose. After graduating, I settled into a Chiropractic practice in Los Gatos, CA. I delivered my daughter 4 days after my Mom passed away, and with the support of my husband, decided to close my practice and move closer to my fou sisters. My husband and I came to Matlacha, to help my Dad run his motel without my Mom. My Dad finally made the decision to move onto a new chapter in his life and put Serenity Bay up for sale. By that time I had fallen in love with the area were living in Bokeelia. I purchased the motel from my Dad in September 2016. My Mom is with me watching me carry on her vision of Serenity Bay. I still intend to get back to Chiropractic and will ultimately try to open my practice here.

What makes this property unique

Our property is unique in that it has one of the best views on the island, as well as a spectacular sunset view. The waters off our sea-wall are quiet, little to no boat traffic, no other people staring back at you from other properties, just water and mangroves as far as you can see. This allows for plenty of wildlife sightings. It is also in walking distance to just about everything.
