Lake Taupo stay

The home was very convenient location-wise and comfortable for us. The bbq was a real plus. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. We appreciated having a washer and dryer and laundry soap available. Very good in every way.

I think you have reviewed a Taupo property by mistake as this apartment does not have a BBQ or a washer/dryer.

Million dollar views from every window. Lovely little apartment that has everything you need for a weekend away. Quality bedding, cute little kitchenette and stunning gardens. Short drive to Wilson Rd shops or the beach. Property does have a steep staircase (as pictured) so pack light. Once you are inside, you won't want to leave. Perfect for a romantic getaway, lazing in bed reading or sitting on the deck enjoying a platter and a glass of wine. Very unique grounds to explore too.

Santorini@Waihi

Lovely exteriors, interiors and landscaping. Million-dollar views. Need pest control and better hygiene (toilet bowl, nooks and corners). Two sites are offering two different rates- as luck would have it- we paid much higher through Book a batch than the advertised rates on the other site, which we came across during our stay. Would be nice to leave some info in the apartment about who conceptualized it, who built it, the architect, how long did it take and any other interesting facts about the project.

Hi Shiram, thanks for your review and glad you enjoyed your stay, I'm not sure what other site you refer to as our rates are the same across all sites, you maybe saw the Garden apartment which is on the same property but sometimes is advertised at a lower rate?

Santorini Style Apartment

Amazing views and does feel like it’s in Santorini with the unique style of house. However it seemed if we walked around it disturbed the unit below. The checking process was a nightmare as we received no email regarding access, even if it was in junk it should have been available on the app like on other apps I’ve used. The PM did respond in time and finally gave us the info just as we arrived. She messaged us on the app saying she had had no messages or calls from us even though she replied to my text half an hour before when I confirmed which unit we were in as well as leaving a voice message. But all worked out ok and we had a wonderful Anniversary

Mid week getaway

The view from all widows was spectacular, however there were issues with the kitchen area and bathroom. The main concern was that the drain from the shower was extremely slow so after every use the bathroom floor needed to be mopped up. The problem was exacerbated because the mop heads provided were not functional. One was the wrong size and the other was very dirty and the plastic screws to attach it to the mop were missing.Overall cleanliness in the kitchen was below expectations. The fridge had not been defrosted for ages and the build up of ice made it impossible to use the ice tray. The toaster was dirty to the extent that it should be replaced.Minor concerns were that the blinds had not been cleaned and the table and chairs on the balcony were on their last legs.

We are sorry you found the apartment in an unsatisfactory condition when you stayed. The shower issue has been resolved and other items have been repaired or replaced, including a new fridge and toaster. The entire property has also had a full spring clean. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to host you again in the future..

Why they chose this property

Our place is just a short walk through the garden to either the beautiful white sand and waves of Waihi Beach or the sheltered Anzac Bay (no waves, boat ramp, excellent fishing). Anzac Bay has a resident coffee cart that also does real fruit ice cream and smoothies all summer long. There's also a small store & cafe just across the reserve at the camp-ground for any essentials. The adjoining reserve also has a cricket ground and newly updated mountain bike pump track. There's also a basketball court and coin operated tennis court within the subdivision of Pio Shores. From the nearby Bowentown reserve (next to boat club) there’s a walking/bike track from Bowentown up the estuary that ends near the award winning Surf Shack Café, a lovely excursion for breakfast or lunch. The nearby Waihi Beach village has a host of great boutique shops and cafes to complete your holiday experience as well as bike hire service. We also recommend the walk from the north end of the beach over to Orakawa Bay (approx 45 mins one way) and exploring nearby Waihi town and the walking and biking tracks in beautiful Karangahape Gorge.

What makes this property unique

The Sky apartment is an open plan one-bedroom apartment, with views from every room. The mezzanine bedroom has a quality queen size bed with Sheridan feather topper and quality high thread count linen. Full walk-in wardrobe provides plenty of storage and it is here we keep Turkish cotton beach towels and Citta cotton bathrobes for guest use. A small kitchenette has a mini-fridge, microwave/convection oven, hot plate and all kitchen essentials to cook a meal should you wish, we also provide a complimentary plunger coffee, tea, sugar, milk as well as cooking basics such as virgin olive oil, salt and pepper etc. In the ensuite bathroom you will find soft, fluffy bathroom towels, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and soaps for a luxury hotel-style stay. The lounge area features a comfortable couch and smart TV with pre-loaded apps such as Netflix, Neon and TVNZ on demand, a small desk area with two dining chairs enables working or dining options and of course we have unlimited free wifi on fibre speeds.

The lounge area leads onto your private deck with million-dollar views of the entire length of the beach and out to Mayor Island, there's a table and chairs for outdoor dining and drinks and a sun lounger for reading your favourite book or working on your tan.

This is a fully self-contained apartment, joined to but private from the main house. You will have your own parking space and external entrance. The apartment is private and quiet and you will not be able to see or hear any areas of the main house.

It’s an easy 5 min walk down through the gorgeous estate gardens and across the road to access either Waihi Beach or Anzac Bay.
