Perfect Family Getaway Home

We really enjoyed the property, little disappointing while we were there the fireplace did not work, but the radiant floor heating was wonderful warm on our feet. We also expected a HotTub, it was just a large Bath in the master or at least that is what I assumed, as there was not Hottub. Home is easily accessed and so close to everything. We would certainly return.

Hi Kim! Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, but we are sorry the fireplace was not working. We do not see a hot tub listed as an amenity for this home, but you can reach out directly to VRBO regarding the accuracy of their listing as you booked on their site. We loved hosting your family at Blackberry Hill and hope you will book with us again!

Beautiful home

The home was very clean and welcome to guests. My family stayed for the weekend house was well stocked and was clean. I would definitely stay there again. Water was the only issue if there was one, but it was not a surprise and was clearly stated but there was fresh water provided, and we brought bottled for drinking but cooking and showering was not an issue because it is well water and that is what you get. Overall value was great with a nicely presented home and had TV's and games to play and billiards as well which is a lot of fun.

Great house and view! Smelly water

Lovely property, really clean with a well stocked kitchen for a group of 6. Over all a good stay with 1 issue. The well water has a very distinct odor of sulfur. After the 1st day, we elected not to shower at the home and were grateful we were only there 2 nights.

Hi Sheila. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, but we are sorry the smell of the water impacted your stay. We do state in the property description that *there is a water filtration system but the water might have a sulfur smell* but apologize for any inconvenience. We loved hosting you and hope we have the opportunity to host you again.

Hi Leonardo! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The home is on a well, so that could explain the strong smell you detected. We value your booking and hope you will book another stay in one of our lovely homes on the Oregon Coast!

Newport stay with friends

Huge house, felt private. Wish the deck had a little shade cover. The biggest problem was unfortunately the well water has a sulfur smell. There’s plenty of brought in jugs of water but the well is slow and water conservation is important.

Disappointing

Not enough characters to give you an accurate description for this trip. We will not stay with another Meredith Lodging VRBO ever again. I will follow up with an email with the full disclosure on our stay.

Dog friendly with a view

The dog durable flooring and comfortable layout of this property are wonderful. The view is amazing and the amenities are all serviceable. A good portion of the kitchen equipment is damaged and old so if you plan on cooking you may want to bring your own. The home was mostly clean but there were lots of visible cobwebs and dust on the walls and light fixtures. The property management provided plenty of drinking water which was very appreciated. The water cistern outside looks a little scary with a bottle of bleach sitting next to it. The property is on a well so the water situation can't be helped but cleaning the area up would add a lot to the curb appeal.

Good property with a few fixable flaws

The space was great - plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms and the main kitchen/dining/family/living room area was well laid out with a nice ocean view. However, the kitchen appliances need attention. Only one burner on the stove worked, and not very well. The toaster only toasted bread on one side. Last, but not least, we had quite a battle with flies inside the house. We must have killed 50 and could not figure out where they were coming from - that should be easy to fix.

Had we been notified, we would have gladly sent our maintenance team over to address the burner and look into the fly issue. We will pass this feedback on to our local property team. We loved hosting you, and hope you will return!
