We really enjoyed our stay here! The house definitely has some wear and tear, but overall it had just what we needed. Our golden loved the backyard and it was so nice to have a place for her to hangout with us. Our only complaint would be that the grass in the backyard was pretty long and needed to be cut. Super close to front street and about a mile walk to everything downtown. Thanks for a great stay!

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and that your golden had room to roam in the backyard, plus the easy walk to downtown! We appreciate you mentioning the wear and tear, and we're planning some updates to the house during the off season. As for the grass, the yard is on a weekly cut schedule, typically Mondays, and your stay fell over the Labor Day holiday, so it got a bit taller than usual. Sorry about that timing, and thanks for the great review!

This was a really cute older remodeled house but it did have some noticeable wear and tear to it. The location of the house is nice and convenient to the waterfront. The HUGE fenced in back yard was our favorite part of the house as we spent most of our time out there when we were not out exploring the area. It is a great place for sipping morning coffee, bird watching, and watching kids and dogs play safely. The upstairs of the house has a really cute and fun hangout spot for kids. Overall I would stay at this house again for a short visit to the area if in need of a dog friendly rental.

Property was lovely. It was pet friendly, however, the previous guests had not cleaned up after their dog. We did before we allowed our dog out. The enclosed back yard was perfect for pets though. Had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Cute cottage in Beaufort

We enjoyed our stay at Ann Street Retreat; close to everything we wanted to see in Beaufort. The large fenced yard was a bonus, as we were traveling with our dog.

From the owner: "So good to hear you had a great stay in our home. The backyard was the selling point for us as well. Our German Shepherds loved hanging out back there. Thanks, and hope to host you again in the future."

Fantastic Beaufort Vacation

My family and I really enjoyed staying here. The house was clean, well equipped and had everything we needed. The gas grill and fenced in back yard was a real plus. Since this is a bit of a walk to down town Beaufort, we rented a golf cart and that made traveling back and forth so easy. Would definitely stay here again.

Just the 3 of us and a dog

It was a perfect place for my mom’s vacation/ holiday. She’s 96 and this was an easy place for her to stay. The back yard and neighborhood was perfect and we all were happy including the 13 year old dog. My sister lives 1/2 block away and all the family got together at her place for a fun filled thanksgiving. Great place!!!! And clean! Thanks!

A perfect location

I enjoyed my stay in Beaufort. I appreciate that I was allowed to bring my dog with me. The backyard is huge and completely fenced in. The street is very quiet and the neighbors were friendly. The home is walking distance to Blackbeard's house and an adorable brewery. Front St. is also a walkable distance. I had an initial issue, but the issue was handled IMMEDIATELY (like within minutes) by the staff. Check-in was easy. I stayed seven nights and had a wonderful time. The beds were comfortable and I had the best sleep!

Beaufort Vacation

We had a wonderful week at the Ann Street Retreat. The house was very comfortable for five of us. The location is perfect for enjoying down town, historic Beaufort. We enjoyed biking down town and through the historic district. The bikes provided by the rental have seen better days, so if you want to bike I would recommend to bring your own. This was not an issue for us as we brought our own bikes. The house has a large fenced in back yard. We enjoyed coffee on the deck each day! We did have one issue that was resolved in minutes of reaching out to the property management. Over all, this house is beautiful and we look forward to visiting again.

Wonderful Base for Vacation with Dog

The home offered a great location in a quiet, safe neighborhood. It was dog-friendly with a fenced-in yard, and had comfortable furnishings and bedding, quality appliances, and good internet. I appreciate that the shower was not slippery, had a substantial grab bar, and good water pressure. I liked that there was only one step up to the porch for carrying in luggage and groceries, and that everything we really needed was on the lower level (we did not use the upper level). The ice maker in the fridge worked perfectly, and the air conditioning, along with ceiling fans throughout, helped keep us very comfortable. These things matter to more "mature" travellers like us. We did find one very minor challenge that would be easy to address: In the master bedroom, there is no electrical outlet convenient to the bed for CPAP machines or similar equipment. We fixed this by picking up a 15' extension cord from the grocery store. This could also be addressed if the owner turned the bed 90 degrees so that the head is along the front wall of the home. There is a convenient outlet at that location. My other request/ suggestion is to provide a quiet office space somewhere, maybe in the corner of a bedroom. Some of us still work when we travel. I used the kitchen table as a desk since it has good access to power and internet. This worked fine except that there is no way to close a door for conference calls. A small desk in the corner of a bedroom would be great.
