Renter beware
I tried to get past the first negative experiences when we arrived: not being provided the alarm code and setting it off, the snow not being cleared at the entrance, not enough pillows, and the home smelling of smoke. There was also an issue with none of the kitchen or dining room lights working and the microwave wouldn’t work. But the one amenity our group was really looking forward to was the outdoor hot tub. When used it was at 89F (recommended temp is at least 100F) and we couldn’t adjust it. In addition there was sand in the bottom (in February?) and the water was low. The kids were shivering after 10 mins. The host could not arrange someone to fix the lighting or hot tub issue. They offered another property nearby but at 8:30pm we didn’t feel that was reasonable given our kids needed to go to bed and we were checking out early. We also didn’t trust that we wouldn't find the same issues at the other property. The host assured that the other hot tub was maintained and cleaned 2-3x a week. Ya right. Communication with host occurred but didn’t resolve the concerns. Host offered a discounted stay at another of their properties next trip but they’re not getting more $ from me. My request for a partial refund was denied. This property is overpriced for how basic it is, and if you think the hot tub makes up for the price, beware. I’ve stayed in many rentals and never experienced issues like this, especially those that weren’t attempted to be resolved. Very disappointed.
