The open-plan living area has a properly comfortable recliner lounge, a timber coffee table, and a dining setting with room for family and friends. From there, step out onto the private, leafy balcony, where undercover nooks at each end invite you to settle in with a book or a glass of wine — there's even a hand-crafted garden swing if you want to properly switch off.

Downstairs, a second private courtyard garden gives you another spot to enjoy the outdoors, whether that's a quiet morning coffee or a lazy afternoon in the sun. The townhouse spans two spacious levels with air conditioning and heating throughout, a full-size kitchen upstairs plus a second kitchenette downstairs, and a 42" flatscreen TV with Apple TV for the nights you stay in.

The Location (Without the Spin)
You're in the middle of Melbourne's inner north at its best — Sydney Road and Lygon Street are both close by, packed with colourful shops, grocers, cafés, bars, live music venues and restaurants covering just about every cuisine going. Public transport here is genuinely excellent: the tram on Lygon Street is a 2-minute walk, Sydney Road's tram is 6 minutes, and trams run every 6 to 8 minutes, getting you into the CBD in about 15. The train station is a 10-minute stroll, and buses stop right at your door, connecting you out to surrounding suburbs, Southbank's Arts Precinct, and even Albert Park beach.

Kumo Izakaya, Lygon St — eclectic Japanese in a striking industrial space, East Brunswick's take on the izakaya.
Mr Wilkinson, Lygon St — a laid-back local bar and eatery that works from morning through to night.
3 Sisters Eatery — Good Food Hat-winning modern Thai fusion, and worth it even for the brussels sprouts.
Téta Mona — run by twin brothers cooking their grandmother's recipes, with some of the best falafel in Melbourne.
Eat Pierogi Make Love — loud, fun Polish food; Monday nights are all-you-can-eat pierogi.
Neighbourhood Wine's sibling bar — rotating share plates, easy-drinking wines, and a seat by the open fire in cooler months.
