Welcome Travellers!
This luxurious King bdrm condo FRONTS sunny west center front directly On the Edge of Victoria's downtown harbor with NO ROAD OR TRAFFIC out front, in a seven story residential building, offering both scenic peacefulness and convenient access.
Why not enjoy breakfast or Happy Hour sunset on the balcony while watching up close seals frolic, Pacific cargoes move past under the impressive, new suspension bridge and rowing teams practise? Or on a cool evening, enjoy curling up by the living room fireplace with one of our books or a movie as the harbor lights twinkle on with takeout treats from the delicious ground floor restaurant. Wake refreshed from the comfort of the sumptuous KING SIZE pillow-top bed surrounded by carefully selected linens and furnishings. Enjoy a romantic second fireplace, in the bedroom, and view harbor activity while still in bed. (A comfortable Queen-size pull-out sofa bed is available in the living room).
The air in our condo does NOT share air sources within the building, but is both gas heated and electrically cooled specifically IN OUR unit protecting you from shared air except in public spaces. Our cleaning includes a full wipe down of surfaces with a bleach solution not just regular soap products to guard against viruses.
Cool off in our downtown Harbor's Edge comfort, with a/c, never needed as much as these warmer summers now. See our condo video of The Mermaid Suite Victoria BC to witness the comforts provided and the lovely setting with charming water taxis, actually little harbor ferries, zipping regularly from the wharf below to transport you, inexpensively, on the water to Victoria's many attractions. Should you wish, whale watching and kayaking excursions are just a few steps away plus bike rentals to enjoy truly scenic biking.
A short walk will bring you to all major downtown attractions, including the Empress Hotel and Convention Center, the Parliament Buildings, the Museum, and some of Victoria’s finest restaurants. Nearby are many boutiques, theatres and shopping opportunities. I always enjoy helping guests plan activities or suggesting restaurants when they share with me their preferences. Many are immediately outside our building just a short walk or harbor ferry thrill.
The four piece bath includes a Deep soaker tub for your relaxation, a shower and hair dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped including both a regular and convection oven for a short stay or a season. The rooftop full 360 degree view of the harbor, city and distant Washington state Olympic mountains is an excellent viewing point while using the communal bbq and patio furniture. I provide grocery store details for close by shopping and scenic country road driving into town details from the airport if that is of interest rather than the highway. We want all our guests to leave having Truly experienced Victoria’s beauty and variety. This is why Victoria received the 2023 Conde Nast Traveller Award for Best Small City in North America based on lifestyle variety and ease of access to so many local treasures, and beauty plus Fabulous eating!
Hiking gorgeous scenery, deep sea fishing, vineyard and fine food explorations all abound. We will happily pick you up at the airport or ferries for a reasonable charge if pre arranged well in advance.
We are 15 minutes walking distance from the Seaplane Terminal to Vancouver, an easy overnight escape,15 minutes from the downtown Victoria Seattle Ferry port, 35 minutes driving from the Victoria Airport, and 40 minutes from the British Columbia Ferry Terminal at Swartz Bay. We provide dedicated underground parking. and are happy to advise you with about grocery delivery, reduced rental car rates, and information on restaurants and attractions. Pets only by prior written arrangement. Our convenient location does not require a car since walking is close to most of what you need and busses are close. Renting a car for a day or two of exploration further away works well. In town most of our guests find a car expense unnecessary for daily use.

About the host
Hosted by Colleen and Don
When we retired, we began lots of international travel, but found few places that offer as much beauty and pleasurable living as does Victoria. So do visit yourselves and explore the Pacific Northwest where we will provide all we can to help you discover why the world journeys here in such numbers.
Why they chose this property
The abundance of variety in scenery, and activities, both recreational, and cultural, really impressed us in Victoria. Biking, whale watching, kayaking, garden touring, museums, wineries, theatres, the symphony- all in a Pacific island community with Canada's most moderate climate. The ease of manoeuvring around a small town without freeways, and the friendliness of a seaside community that has the charm of the little harbour ferries, all conjures up a peaceful haven separate from the frenzied real world.
What makes this property unique
Here you really can have the beauty of Victoria nestled at the water's edge without so much of the usual downtown intrusions such as noise, congestion, smog, but still have immediate walking access to shops, and restaurants once you leave the condo. How pleasurable to move about on foot, or on a bike to take in the fresh sea air rather than have to fight for a parking spot every time you venture out. Plus the changing panorama on the waterway just off the balcony will encourage you to slow down, and enjoy the captivating scenery and sunsets.
