WINTER IN VICTORIA! WATRFRNT DWNTWN WEST BALC, KING BDRM: $2890/M, 90 DAY MIN,
Welcome Travelers! GET OUT OF THE SNOW!! This bright and luxurious King bdrm condo FRONTS directly on Victoria's downtown harbor. It has a sunny west center-front position in the building with NO ROAD OR TRAFFIC out front, in a seven story residential building, offering both scenic peacefulness and convenient access. Why not enjoy breakfast or Happy Hour sunset on the balcony while watching up close seals frolic, Pacific cargoes move past under the impressive, new suspension bridge and rowing teams practice? Or on a cool evening, enjoy curling up by the living room fireplace with one of our books or a movie as the harbor lights twinkle on with takeout treats from the ground floor restaurant. Wake refreshed from the comfort of the sumptuous KING SIZE pillow-top bed surrounded by carefully selected linens and furnishings. Enjoy a romantic second fireplace, in the bedroom, and view harbor activity while still in bed. (A comfortable Queen-size pull-out sofa bed is available in the living room). The air in our condo does NOT share air sources within the building, but is both gas heated and electrically cooled specifically IN OUR unit protecting you from shared air except in public spaces. Our cleaning includes a full wipe down of surfaces with a bleach solution, not just regular soap products, to guard against viruses. Cool off in our downtown Harbor's Edge comfort, with a/c, never needed as much as these warmer summers now. See our condo video of The Mermaid Suite Victoria BC to witness the comforts provided and the lovely setting with charming water taxis, actually little harbor ferries, zipping regularly from the wharf below to transport you, inexpensively, on the water to Victoria's many attractions. Should you wish, whale watching and kayaking excursions are just a few steps away plus bike rentals to enjoy truly scenic biking. A short walk will bring you to all major downtown attractions, including the Empress Hotel and Convention Center, the Parliament Buildings, the Museum, and some of Victoria’s finest restaurants. Nearby are many boutiques, theatres and shopping opportunities. I always enjoy helping guests plan activities or suggesting restaurants when they share with me their preferences. Many are immediately outside our building just a short walk or harbor ferry thrill. The four piece bath includes a Deep soaker tub for your relaxation, a shower and hair dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped including both a regular and convection oven for a short stay or a season. The rooftop full 360 degree view of the harbor, city and distant Washington state Olympic mountains is an excellent viewing point while using the communal bbq and patio furniture. I provide grocery store details for close by shopping and scenic country road driving into town details from the airport if that is of interest rather than the highway. We want all our guests to leave having Truly experienced Victoria’s beauty and variety. This is why Victoria received the 2023 Conde Nast Traveller Award for Best Small City in North America based on lifestyle variety and ease of access to so many local treasures, and beauty plus Fabulous eating! It was a nice location with a fun view of the water and the water taxis. Cozy space, nice building, safe, and really close to historic area.

Location is perfect for walking and exploring downtown. Only drawback is that it's a bit noisy.

Noisy? Never in 14 years has our front of building condo been noisy: no road, no cars, no pedestrians, no garbage trucks.
On your Nov 20-25 visit, you wrote me late Nov 23:
"Hi Colleen,
Jane got us settled in nicely....she's been very helpful. We are keeping ourselves busy exploring downtown, spent the day on Salt Spring yesterday and are wine touring today. Thoroughly enjoying all of it!
Regards,
Darcie"
Then Nov 25 in the morning, a day later, you comment online on noise and make no mention of what it was, or its frequency.
If you had wanted to have the noise stopped, all you needed to have done was phone or email me with the details.
But you didn't.
Odd behaviour that, isn't it?
Colleen
What a changed evaluation, Brenda. What you wrote me Personally was very different, asking I provide free your 3rd guest waiving that daily fee to prevent you no increased costs due to your recent accident. You stated:
"Hi Colleen We have had a fabulous time. The miniature village is something everyone needs to see. Very impressive. Butchart Gardens was also a wonderful day. Thankyou for a wonderful stay. Brenda"
Instead publicly you state the home is aging. Where? It has been recently during covid repainted, carpets, linens and the headboard are only a few months old and the upholstered furniture is regularly cleaned and comfortable as you stated having used the couch for your 3rd party to sleep. Our recliners guests love after walking all day, and the imported, inlaid DR set continues to offer comfort and good looks with its glass top and care given it. I provided so much email help to you for a 3 day stay, I must address your lack of appreciation for ALL you were provided, including welcome champagne which you never mentioned.
The multiple condo pics online show EXACTLY the condo's interior you selected. And many reviews mention the superb comfort of our King bed.
Did your mobility limitations suddenly in a cast cause this attitude shift? Colleen
Beautiful location close to lots of wonderful restaurants and walking distance to the Victoria Waterfront and all it's amenities. Highly recommend!

Hi Roberta -
I'm always pleased even after years that our guests had fun and comfort staying at our condo. Certainly as you said, the up close edge of harbor view, the interesting waterway traffic moving goods all over the world, the rowers, the west facing sunset, and the little harbor ferries at our wharf for easy rides, heck, you can enjoy a day just watching all this!
I hope life in NB goes more easily than did covid last winter. Colleen
Wonderful place to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Excellent bed, very comfortable. Couch and recliners very comfortable. Loved having a bathtub , was deep with plenty of hot water, just like home!

Colleen’s condo is lovely. Well appointed and within walking distance to everything . She was most helpful with suggestions for restaurants and day trips. There is a friendly harbors edge pub right below which was a great spot to sit outside at end of the day.

Patricia , you were very organized from arrival time with plans and tours that had you fill each day with new discoveries and then could enjoy a late west coast sunset at the condo, reviving for the next day's adventures. I'm pleased our onsite water side restaurant generously encourages guests to share their lovely patio for leisurely meals and even reading. Coming from San Fran and with you so enjoying Victoria, speaks well for this northerly Pacific city. Colleen
The mermaid suite is a wonderful place to stay in Victoria. You can't beat the beautiful waterfront views and the walking distance to so many attractions. Access to the roof top patio is big plus. Owner provides a personal greeter and a bottle of sparkling wine - such a classy touch! We hope to return.

About the host
Hosted by Colleen and Don
When we retired, we began lots of international travel, but found few places that offer as much beauty and pleasurable living as does Victoria. So do visit yourselves and explore the Pacific Northwest where we will provide all we can to help you discover why the world journeys here in such numbers.
Why they chose this property
The abundance of variety in scenery, and activities, both recreational, and cultural, really impressed us in Victoria. Biking, whale watching, kayaking, garden touring, museums, wineries, theatres, the symphony- all in a Pacific island community with Canada's most moderate climate. The ease of manoeuvring around a small town without freeways, and the friendliness of a seaside community that has the charm of the little harbour ferries, all conjures up a peaceful haven separate from the frenzied real world.
What makes this property unique
Here you really can have the beauty of Victoria nestled at the water's edge without so much of the usual downtown intrusions such as noise, congestion, smog, but still have immediate walking access to shops, and restaurants once you leave the condo. How pleasurable to move about on foot, or on a bike to take in the fresh sea air rather than have to fight for a parking spot every time you venture out. Plus the changing panorama on the waterway just off the balcony will encourage you to slow down, and enjoy the captivating scenery and sunsets.
