Vaughan's place was the perfect spot while we hosted an event at the Shed Collective (only a 4 minute drive away!). A cosy spot with gorgeous views. Highly recommend. Driveway is a bit steep so make sure your car can handle it!
Such an excellent place to spend a night away. It had everything we needed and despite only being a quick drive to the city, it felt like a different world. We loved lighting the fireplace and it also meant the house stayed cosy all night and into the following morning. The place was clean, comfortable and we loved the extra attention to details. Meeting the animals was an added bonus! Vaughan was a great host, excellent communication and friendly. Thanks for a great stay!
Had a great time with family. Accommodating host, comfortable rooms, great location with access to shops, Waitakere forest and Piha beach. Magical views of sunsets out of the large windows
The home was located nearby grocery stores and restaurants, but was quiet and peaceful on the farm. The house is set down a long, somewhat steep, driveway that made it easy to escape the noise of the road. The views to the farm were stunning as well!
The setting and view were great. Inside the house was immaculate and comfortable and the fireplace was great. There were two decks were good and private. Great place to relax.
We had a great stay in the cottage. We met Vaughan when we arrived and he was very friendly. All his messages were very clear and they were easy to follow. We only had breakfast each day but the kitchen was set up well for cooking. The bathroom was great with excellent pressure in the shower. Beds were comfy and it was lovely being able to say hi to Prince each day. We were well located for getting dinner out each night. We loved the country views
My husband and I traveled to NZ for the first time with our best friends and this was our first stay. What a great introduction to New Zealand’s beauty and charm AND to it’s people! Communication was great (so responsive and friendly!) and our host graciously left some fresh milk and kiwis in the fridge for us. The pastoral views out the living room windows and the master bedrooms were phenomenal - I almost felt like I was in the Shire (because of the rolling green hills, farm animals, and bunnies and birds). The beds were quite comfy and we slept soundly. We didn’t cook in the kitchen but it looked like it would have had everything we needed. We appreciated that the location of the VRBO put us away from noise, but we could still drive to a Pack’N Save for groceries in roughly 10 minutes. The host also gave us a suggestion to hike Mercer Bay Loop (which ended up being a gorgeous 25-30 minute drive away and we loved that!). Also suggested was the Piha beach and that too was a great suggestion (maybe another 10 minute drive further past Mercer). The driveway of the VRBO is pretty narrow - I would not have wanted to be in a large vehicle, trying to back in and out, but it was manageable for us with our Nissan X-trail and since that’s the only thing that wasn’t AMAZING about this place, I’d say this VRBO is a GEM.
