About this property
Mountains to coast - Bayu Lookout
Summary:
This unique timber pole house is perfect for groups of friends. Bayu Lookout is elevated on the Eastern escarpment of Buderim's volcanic plateau. Surrounded by covered verandahs, it has amazing Coral Sea views from Mooloolaba to Caloundra, and outlooks over the Blackall Range. Situated in Sunshine Coast's oldest town, Buderim (est 1862), beaches are only 10 min drive away. Bayu Lookout is comfortably styled with quality furniture and curated pieces that evoke memories of travels.
The Space:
Bayu means "breeze" in Sanskrit. The elevation captures an abundance of natural light and beautiful breezes from this lookout.
The welcoming front foyer immediately opens to the bedrooms, each containing hotel-grade linen and bedding, elegant furnishings, and timber shutters. Attached to the master bedroom is a private verandah with coastal views, and an ensuite with double shower and spa bath. All linen and towels provided are professionally laundered and included.
Upstairs, the soaring vaulted ceiling crowns a generous open living space, surrounded with fly-screened sliding doors which lead out to the deep covered verandahs, where outdoor sofas encourage ship watching under beautiful and sometimes, dramatic sunset skies. Perfect for a charcuterie platter and a glass of wine.
Inside, large beautiful rugs cover Queensland hardwood floors; sink into the leather armchairs with a good book in one of two lounge spaces, or watch TV in the other. A small reading nook has our gallery of art and houses a collection of books.
With moody woven pendant lights hanging over a solid timber dining table, the dining area naturally becomes the hub of the house. Alternatively, perch on a barstool with an espresso in the fully equipped kitchen, kitted out with cookware to crockery, wine glasses to platters, trivets to pool ware.
A separate workspace allows others a retreat; equipped with 32" smart monitor that allows HDMI/USB C/AirPlay connection for work (please bring your own cables), but also has streaming apps available if subscribed. And of course, WiFi throughout the house.
Outdoors, Bayu Lookout has undercover parking, a convenient turning space and a fully fenced tropical garden with seasonal fruiting trees, and north-east facing pool warmed by natural sunlight.
Relax with those amazing views to Point Cartwright, or try an easy hike to the waterfall at Buderim Forest Park, surf at Mooloolaba or explore the northern beaches of Peregian and Noosa. Eumundi Markets and the famous Buderim Ginger Factory are an easy drive. Check out our arrival guide for great restaurants and fresh seafood!
Guest Access:
Bayu House is available for exclusive use.
Other Things to Note:
Unfortunately Bayu is not suitable for children under 8 or pets as there are many delicate pieces within reach of small hands and paws.
We do not accept bookings for school leavers or allow functions/parties.
For everybody's safety, there must be ABSOLUTELY NO GLASS within the pool fenced area. No swimming after 9pm.
Security: the property is protected by keyed security screens, PIN locks and one security camera that covers the front yard.
