Our home on Wyehka Way is on a 5 acre country setting surrounded by trees but only 2 miles away from town. You will love our home because it is quiet and private, on a paved dead end lane, and overlooks peaceful Swenson meadow. Our place is good for families (with kids) and big groups.
Our retreat home is very close to town, the fish hatchery, Lake Siskiyou and other points of interest in Mt Shasta. The large open concept area is airy and inviting, with the kitchen & island area visible to the living and dining area . The living area has a fireplace and a large flat screen TV. There are plenty of living spaces in our home. The oversized couches are very comfy. The sunroom is an inviting place to view the meadow and visit. The large deck has a BBQ grill and overlooks the meadow. It’s a quiet peaceful place to relax, where you can hear the occasional geese flying overhead in the meadow.
You'll have full access to the house. The pantry and the outside shed are kept locked. Check in and check out times are flexible.
The house is located down a secluded street and is very private. It's overlooking a meadow with cattle, quail and other animals wandering around. You may also hear the geese across the meadow. The house is a 5 minute drive to town and about 20 minutes from the base of the mountain.

Excellent Stay. Location, property,, and the amenities were awesome. WiFi was a little slow and spotty, but probably expected in a remote area. Overall, loved this place, and family wished we had stayed here a few more days.
My family and I had a wonderful time the house was perfect had everything we needed Steve was great at communicating and my children got to enjoy some snow very close to Mt Shasta ski park
Needed family fun time and Thanksgiving week was the best time to do it. We got lucky and a big storm blew through the week before and gave us enough snow to go sledding only 15 minute drive from the house. House was everything we needed, clean, full kitchen, comfy beds, wood pile and wood burning stove heater,,family games, and WiFi. We will book the house again in February or March.
The property was wonderful. A couple cleanliness issues but the owner was going to inform his house keeper about them. Definitely would stay here again.
After a last minute need to find a new spot to stay (thanks to wildfires), I discovered this location. It has a lovely view, very quiet woodsy location, with lots of room, and well stocked.
There are some wonderful things about this rental: quiet setting with peaceful views, well equipped kitchen, nice layout and spaces, great dining table and chairs, easy access to explore the area. But our group of friends that travel together annually all had the feeling that either the owners haven't actually been there in a long time to notice everything that needs attention or that they just don't care. There were rickety chairs, broken blinds, tile coming off the bathroom wall, broken top dishwasher rack, sagging can lights, bathroom towel bar that wasn't properly attached, bathroom doors and knobs that don't work, weedy forgotten landscaping, etc. The basic parts of the house were clean, but there were cobwebs and dust in some areas, and the inside of the kitchen cabinets needed to be wiped out. Some of the bedding and furniture was quite worn, which can be common in popular rentals. The home would benefit from a deep cleaning and thorough maintenance service. Overall we were comfortable, but we came away feeling like this property would be so much more appealing with some much deserved TLC.
This very comfortable house has a beautiful view of the adjacent meadow and is close to Mt Shasta and the ski park. The living room is spacious, and the bedrooms are comfortable. We would love to stay here the next time we are in the area. .
This home was perfect for my family. The property was attractive, well-equipped, and very comfortable. It was located in a country setting, but close enough to town for convenience. Overall it was a very good experience here.
We have a amazing time the property it’s excellent the owner give you what they Ofer you and the neighborhood it’s nice and quiet we love it and for sure will rent it again
We enjoyed our stay, the neighborhood is very peaceful. The kids enjoyed playing games, watching movies and roasting marshmallows. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the longhorns in the pasture across the street during the day and star gazing at night. The property was close to the cities of Mt. Shasta and Weed for shopping. We took day trips to Blarney Falls and a couple of the local lakes. The beds were comfortable and the HVAC system worked great!
First time we stayed here.
Perfect place to stay.
Clean, comfortable, quiet.
Room to relax, socialize and cook/grill.
Great view
Close to Mt. Shasta City and golf courses we played
Almost zero car traffic on the road and the occasional jogger/walker.
We will definitely stay here again for our yearly tournament.
We had the property booked last year right when the Weed Mill Fire happened. Steve, the owner, was easy to work with on the cancellation process.
Thanks again Steve!
Our party was two adult couples -- us and my husband's parents. We live in a semi-rural area and still were impressed with how quiet and dark it is at night. Just the breeze and the frogs. The hosts have done a nice job of combining family furniture and knick-knacks with some recent remodeling (seemed like new floor downstairs; all new glassware, dishes, cookware, fluffy towels). The outside grill worked well. The (older) electric range was inconsistent but totally fine for us for three days of cooking. The downstairs bedroom is en suite; upstairs has three bedrooms and one bathroom. The parking area easily accommodated our car and our in-laws small camper van. We enjoyed our stay!
Very clean we will be returning next year lord willing.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
The house is cozy and cute, but could use a depper clean and regular maintenance. Be cautious of the deck especially with small children as there are many nails sticking up. Make sure to have all necessary communication with host before you check in as they likely won't respond during your stay. We were never able to get the wifi password or locate the main trash can. We also never received check out instructions, so had to guess what their procedure was.
This cabin's photos don't do it justice, it was much more spacious than it looked in photos. The kitchen was awesome, it had enough space for everyone to cook, it was well stocked, and had every kitchen item you could imagine...we even made belgian waffles one morning!
And it was nice it was removed from the center of town so we could view more stars from the front porch.
