Wonderful home away from home. Amazing accommodations & extra touches thought of by host. Excellent communication with host.Family & pet friendly.Absolutely adore Cheticamp and awesome location for hiking at Cape Breton National Park. Host provided a pass to use for in and out of the park.We stayed for 10 days and experienced so much of this beautiful area.

Jade was very helpful and prompt in all her replies and it was evident that she cared about our time at her cottage. Jade went above and beyond.The place is very much as described, the only thing I did not notice from the pictures is that the grass yard is at the sides of the house vs the back. Not an issue for us at all.We appreciated the use of beach towels which were made available and 2 portable air conditioning units which were a very pleasant surprise!

The hosts have done a lovely job decorating the house, everything in the house worked, and the amenities were as described. Lots of basic cooking supplies, which was nice. Internet worked well.However, there were cleaning and "niceness" issues with the house that made it seem not worth the cost, which are inconsistent with the care the hosts clearly put into the decorations. I feel the house would have been significantly improved with a thorough cleaning, but there are other factors that are probably harder to improve, like a musty odor in the main floor. Doors in the top floor (where the bedrooms are) did not fit well and had hinge problems, so whenever one person moved around at night, others woke up. A dishwasher might be a good idea, as previous guests did not do a great job with kitchen dishes.

Chéticamp stay

We had a great visit. We were able to buy great local seafood and cook wonderful dinners. We hiked the skyline trail and heard great music at the Doryman. The house gave us great access to these things.

Jade was quick to respond to any questions we had but there were very few as all information was readily available. The booklet provided was very helpful which also included many recommendations for the area. She also provided an electronic copy prior to arrival. The property is well equipped and accommodations are very comfortable.

Cheticamp gem!

Clean, welcoming and fully appointed home. Everthing has been well taken care of both inside and out. Very thoughtful to have board games, welcome booklet outlining the area, places to visit & eat, outdoor projector etc. We truly enjoyed every second of our stay, and we will stay here again and again and again!

Nothing Short Of Magical

If only words could express our joy and love for finding this beautiful cottage! This charming retreat has exceeded all of our expectations. The cottage itself was a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The decor was tastefully done, with cozy furnishings and thoughtful touches that made the space inviting. Beautiful and homely

As first time vrbo users, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. But we were pleasantly surprised! We had the most wonderful stay at The Bluewood. Jade was the perfect host, always quick & willing to respond to any questions. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen, well equipped (as a “from scratch” cooking momma, this was a big deal!). The living space was homely and comfortable. The deck area was perfect for s’mores! We had our dog with us & loved that there were bowls, towels & leashes for her. There is a beautiful beach a short drive away. We took full advantage of the free park pass that came with the house. We would totally use this house again for future trips. Thank you Jade.

Great location, super cute house with lots of space. The host also provides a pass you can borrow to use for entering the National Park, so no need to purchase one yourself.
