Luxury Apt 'Volat' in a 200 yrs old traditional wine cellar; downtown Split
The apartment is a newly converted, 200 years old wine cellar. It is situated on the ground floor of a typical traditional Croatian stone house which dates back to 1800s. You will enjoy a unique, traditional Dalmatian interior. The stone inside will keep you warm in winters and cool in hot Split summers. Emperor Diocletian's Palace is only 5 minutes away. (You will see similarities between his cellars and your apartment!) All the bars and restaurants are within walking distance so you can relax in Split without a car. The beaches are 10 to 15 minutes away (by walk!). If you decide to make a day trip and take a ride, you can visit the Salona ruins (5km), Klis fortress (7km) or maybe the beautiful city of Trogir which is, like Split, one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. (25km) You can even hop on a ferry and visit one of the nearest islands (Brac, Solta, Hvar...)
Welcome and enjoy your stay in Split!

A wonderful apartment with everything available for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to attractions, huge variety of food options, markets etc. Perfectly presented as per the listing. Lots of little treats & so good to come home to at the end of the day/night exploring. Was lovely to meet the host on arrival & get local recommendations. Loved our stay & exploring the area.
This rental is one of a kind. It truly looks like the photos. The location was convenient to transportation, the city sites, bars and restaurants. We feel like it needed a window so we could see outside, and because it is on a heavily traveled pedestrian street, it was quite noisy.

Fun, unique, great location
Very clean and very convenient to the main downtown area. Quiet area too. It was a fun experience sleeping in a converted wine cellar! The owner is very friendly, helpful and responds quickly. Only one small downside is the hot water tank for the shower is small, so you need to use low water pressure in order to get a hot 10 min shower.

Could not have been better!
My 3 month stay in 'Volat' - could not have been better!
The cosy, 'unique' atmosphere of the exposed stone ceilings & walls - combined extremely well with the excellent facilities included.
Only thing lacking was a more-useable set of table & chairs - as the 'nook' setting is only suitable for very small people!
The location was also wonderfully convenient, with supermarkets, bakeries, bars, cafes & restaurants - all within a few minutes walk.
The 'Riva' waterfront & 'Diocletian's Palace', a mere 5-8 minutes walk away.
Split is a truly wonderful city - and not overly 'touristy'!
My hosts, Zeljan & Tea, were exceptionally helpful, delightfully pleasant & friendly.
Overall - a genuine 5***** experience & highly recommended!

Apartment was exactly like you see in the pictures. The owner Zeljan was very nice. He replied fast to all of our questions via email and text. He gave us even a local phone to contact him, it also had phone numbers to hospital etc. We really enjoyed our stay in Split and would highly recommend this apartment.

Schöner Urlaub in Split

Highly recommended
The apartement is a breathtaking location to stay in the city of Split! It is just a few minutes to the city center. The service is really good: It is very easy to communicate with the apartements owner, mails will be replied immediately. We had a warm welcome with some recommendations and a typical dalmatian snack - the owners knows what tired travelers need!
The apartement lacks for nothing. Don´t miss the chance to stay in this authentic and comfortable wine cellar!
We can recommend to make a day trip to the city Hvar on Hvar Island and don´t forget to visit Trogir - it is very charming! In Split the restaurant FIFE nearby the harbour is keen and offers kroatian food.

The Apartment Volat was perfect!
Everything was wonderful. Great location, the apartment was tidy, fully equipped and beautiful; everything was as described. The host is very friendly and helpful. We took a day trip to the beautiful island of Brac and enjoyed it very much even though it was quiet this time of year.
Thank you for everything, Zeljan!

A Gem in Split
Comfortable, stylish and charming, this is truly a unique and amazing place to stay in Split. Located inside the Old City, it's perfect for exploring the shops, restaurants, bakeries and Diocletian's Palace. The owner Zeljan went out of his way to help us find the house and get oriented to the ins and outs of the city, and there is also free street parking out front. We highly recommend this place!

Romantic place in Split
Iskra and Zeljan, a pair of siblings, hosted us wunderful during our stay in Split. The stylish apartment is a real dream - the pictures promised a lot, but in reality it is even better!
It is located near by the Diocletian palace and so we went there nearly every evening after having dinner in one of the numerous restaurants nearby. We also recommend the wine bar "Paradox" and the fish restaurant "Konoba Matejuska" as noted by one evaluator before.
Thanks to Iskra and Zeljan for this perfect week in Split - We highly recommend Apartment Volat!

Wonderful stay in apartment Volat
This beautiful apartment Volat is located in the heart of Split. It is an unique combination of tradition and modernity. Originally a wine cellar, now a stylish apartment. Placed very close to the center of the fantastic city of Split. A few minutes to the palace, surrounded by nice restaurants. The apartment, the small kitchen and the bathroom are sophisticated newly furnished and very clean. We loved it.
The apartment is middle of the city nevertheless quiet.
Zeljan the host welcomed us with a Croatian ham and bread. We were overwhelmed, he was very hospitable and helpful. We felt from the first moment at home.
We highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Split.

Perfect apartment in historic Split
My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in Croatia this July and our stay in Apartman Volat was definitely a high point. The interior is similar in construction to the nearby Diocletion Palace which is a mere 5-minute walk away. Many of the restaurants we frequented were also just down the block from the apartment. Iskra met us at the apartment upon our arrival in Split and did an excellent job familiarizing us with the apartment and the ancient city of Split. She even left us some delicious prsut and homemade cheese which hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing. The apartment itself is very modern and stays cool even during the hot summer days. We definitely hope to return to Split someday and would absolujtely stay here again!

Excellente, better than ever !!!
This apartment was by far the most beautiful accomodation we have ever had! The amazing stonework gives it an extremely unique feel thanks to which it looks like a little piece of art with many charming details I will not disclose!
Everything is neat and very, very clean.
The location is simply perfect because the street is quiet and there is barely any traffic, and yet here you are only 2 minutes away from the National theatre and from one of the most bustling pedestrian streets in the center.
Zeljan was very friendly and helpful, he assisted us with ferry itinerary which was very confusing. Also, on the day of departure he literally saved us by arranging a taxi at the last minute because we were late for the bus so we almost missed our plane!!
Thanks for everything, you were a great host!

Great Holidays in Croatia
We spent one week in march in this beautiful apartment and we enjoyed it very much.
The apartment owner was incredibly friendly and made ??us feel welcome at all times. We took the public bus (No. 37) from the airport down to the central bus station in Split. Since we both don't speak Croatian the owner of the apartment has helped us by e-mail to take the right bus, and also on our way back to the airport he helped us to find out the departure times of the bus. With the free Wi-Fi in the apartment this was very easy. As welcoming we were picked up from the bus station and at the apartment was a plate with ham and cheese waiting for us.
All the croatian people we met were very friendly and helpful. Especially in the small Wine & Chees Bar "Paradox" not far from the apartment we met a very funny and friendly waiter. Also we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant "Konoba Matejuska" a small fish restaurant and we highly recommend it for people who like to eat fresh fish.
To spend a nice day at the beach we took the ferry to Superta, Brac and from there a bus to Bol. The journey took us some time but it was worth it totally.
The weather was a bit colder than we expected except, but nevertheless for us it was a very positive experience in Split which was crowned by a little goodbye gift from the apartment owner.
Thanks for everything!

Honeymoon
We stayed in this luxury apartment for our honeymoon. Zeljan was so great and met us at the apartment- we were running late and could not get in touch with him- but he was so kind and understanding. The apartment was beautiful! The stone work was amazing and everything was so nicely decorated. The apartment was in the best location! We were close to the fish market, green market, tons of restaurants and bars and Diocletian's palace (everything took us 2-3 mins walking!). Also, we were right around the block from an amazing wine and cheese bar (Paradox- ranked #1 at tripadvisor) and the national Croatian theatre (which we got to hear their symphony play for $15 in a private box seating). This apartment was perfect- would highly recommend it.

Amazing place, great location, wonderful host!
This is the coolest place I've ever stayed! Easily rivals a high end hotel in terms of quality, but beats a hotel in terms of uniqueness. Only a few minutes walk to Diocletians palace and other sights. Zeljan, the host, is very friendly and helpful as well.
I highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Split.

Great convenience and very affordable
My wife and I staid in Split for three nights and had found this totally revamped apartment just a few days before on HomeAway. We found the apartment and Iskra, managing the apartment, was greeting us with a local beer as a welcome drink. She gave us recommendations where to go and what to see in Split and was very friendly. The apartment is located about 5 minute walk from the promenade in an old cellar building. The furniture is all new and very nice, the apartment has a mini-kitchen, including a microwave and a fridge (very convenient because it does get hot in Split!). Also, there is an AC and a TV in the apartment.
When there was a minor inconvenience (the shower was clocked), I texted her and the problem was taken care of within a few hours.
We enjoyed Split very much and this apartment was a great and affordable place to stay!

Special Treatment
We really enjoyed to stay here and meeting houseowner... It was a great experience for us to stay in this nish apartment. You can walk to the palace in 3-5 minutes. There are no stairs :) Because we liked Crotia a lot but nothing was flat. Very close to the market. Also it is really a good idea to demand the transportation issue from the owners. They helped a lot about this case...
