Family Get Together

Our experience was excellent. The cottage location was perfect situated close to all the places we wanted to go and close to where our family lives. The cottage very clean and well kept with all the amenities. The decor very nice and it has a beautiful loft and very comfortable and spacious. The lake is beautiful and very enjoyable to walk around and spend time outside. The patio is very enjoyable to sit and just enjoy the lake and very relaxing. We will definitely will be back.

The unit is a nice unit, but we had large frustrations with communication, unaddressed maintenance issues, and lack of dish drying towels, lack of hand towels, and dirty bath towels. First, our host ignored our messages pre-arrival. When she finally called us 2 hrs before check-in she was shocked to learn she was the host and hadn't looked at her work phone in 2 days. She admitted she missed all our messages, said she didn't realize she was supposed to respond, and was using her personal cell to call and say the access box was broken and to get the key under the matt. She offered a late check-out of 2 hrs. When we got to the unit, the AC sounded like a jet engine because the return filter was filthy & looked like it hadn't been cleaned in at least a year. The smaller bath/shower combo didn't drain & you had to stand in 6 in of soapy water when you showered. The kitchen paper towel roll was so cheap the paper towels disintegrated in my hand instead of drying. We had to go get bath and hand towels that were clean. Etc.......

We appreciate the detailed feedback, and we're glad the unit itself came across as a nice space overall. That said, the communication breakdown before check-in was not the experience we want any guest to have, and we're addressing it directly with guest contact. The AC filter and shower drainage issues you described are also concerning, and while units are serviced every six months, it sounds like this fell outside that window, so we'll be following up on the maintenance schedule. We're sorry as well about the towel situation, and we'll be reviewing that with our cleaning crew to make sure guests always have what they need on arrival. Thank you again for taking the time to share this so we can improve the experience going forward.

During a hiccup getting in, the owner and rental managing company were very helpful rectifying the situation. The cottage was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and well-stocked with kitchen and bath items. The boat slip and ramp were just a quick walk from the cottage. And the restaurant, Break on the Lake, which is next to the boat ramp, had delicious food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and would gladly rent it again.
