The Mendon Cottage: Charming Home Close to Killington, Pico and Rutland.

Thanks for rolling with a last-minute change. Losing a property the week before a trip is never how we want things to go, and when it happens our job is to find you something that works as well or better, at no extra cost to you. Glad the new place fit what you needed and that our check-ins during the stay were helpful. We'd love to have you back at one of our places next time you're up this way. - Dave and the Simple Vacation Rentals Team

Thanks so much for the great review, Jack! Glad the place worked for you and that the crew took good care of things. You were right about that gap by the AC unit, and good catch on it. We got it sealed up right after your stay, so no more moths sneaking in when the lights are on at night. Would love to have you back anytime. - Dave and the Simple Vacation Rentals Team

Hey friedmi, thanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback and for the 4 stars! Just a quick note for anyone reading: this stay was actually at our Outpost house rather than Mendon Cottage due to a plumbing issue, so the details here reflect that home. We're glad it felt clean and simple and that you got settled in okay. You make a great point about the setup info, and we've since put together clearer arrival and check-in details so getting into the unit is a breeze. The tip about downloading offline maps and logging in before you lose cell service is a smart one too, since that stretch of Killington can get a little spotty. We'd love to host you again on a future trip up to the mountain. Safe travels! - Dave and the Simple Vacation Rentals Team

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this, John! We're really glad the inside of the home lived up to expectations, our cleaning team works hard to keep things spotless and it's great to know that came through. You're right about the outdoor spaces though, and we're sorry the porch and patio weren't in the shape they should have been when you arrived. That's on us, and we've already put steps in place to make sure the exterior gets the same attention as the interior before every check in, especially around busy holiday weekends. We appreciate you flagging it, it genuinely help us do better. Hope to host you again soon so you can enjoy the outdoor space the way it's meant to be! - Dave and the Simple Vacation Rentals Team

We will add more to make it even easier for future guests. Hope to have you back next time you are in the area. - Dave and the Simple Vacation Rentals Team

Thanks for the review. Fall in Vermont can get damp, especially after heavy rain, and that can sometimes cause a musty smell when a home has been closed up for a bit. We’re speaking with our cleaners to make sure the home is aired out more often and that extra attention is given to the floors between stays. The stove is an induction cooktop, and we’ve added clearer instructions for future guests since it can take a little getting used to. Glad the location worked well for your visit back to Vermont. Hope to have you back. - Dave and the Simple Vacation Rentals Team
