Great location, just for the night.

Great location, right next to where you get off the ferry and there's a beach right below. Beautiful views and great for a morning dip in the sea. Breakfast buffet was good and I liked that it went on until 11am. The rooms are very basic, no air con, just a fan and the bed, which was fine. I was glad we were only there the one night as we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The balcony was nice though. I feel we definitely paid for location rather than facilities.

Shabby hotel with no air con

Nice location but the carpets are tired to say the least and there is no air conditioning, just a weak desk fan to keep cool. Stifling in July and loud people outside all night make for not much sleep. I checked into another hotel.

No AC -

the rooms have no AC and only a small table fan. It is impossible to sleep at night. Be ready to boil. For the cost paid u expect better living condition.

Great location and great value for money.

You get what you pay for. My girlfriend and I stayed in the Annexe and the value for money is some of the best in Europe. The room is a bit basic but who stays in the hotel room all day when you're on holiday anyway! The location is fantastic with an area to swim and sunbathe right outside the hotel. Walking distance from the Hvar - Split Ferry and almost every bar and restaurant in Hvar Town. Perfect for people who want to drink and have fun fairly cheaply in Hvar. Other reviews say it is too loud but it is not. Lovely breakfast veranda with a beautiful harbour view (average breakfast but it is included!). Very good staff. Overall I was fairly happy with this hotel for £50 per night.

Most amazing view, very old condition of rooms

Very nice people working at the reception etc however the rooms were very old fashioned. The view from our seafront room was spectacular. The rooms was small and the shower facilities were terrible.

Not worth it.

Great location on waterfront, but super loud at night & 'deluxe room with sea-view' is anything but deluxe. Only a small-fan to keep the temperature down, if you want to shut the window/door to keep the noise out [and you will have to]. Despite being 4 floors above the walkway below, you can hear the nightlife noise like it's right outside your window. Bathroom has a "shower" that must be from 1945 - it's just as big as you are and has a built in seat for elderly individuals. Room came with two single beds, despite being described as a double. The whole place is covered in a red-carpet that isn't the right size for the hallway [curls up in corners, clumps up on the stairs]. Wifi only available in lobby, as signal doesn't reach up to 4th floor. Breakfast buffet was fine.

Great location & view

The reviews so far on this hotel are hard to understand until you've been there. The issue is that there is a main hotel and a beach annex. We stayed in the beach annex. This has overall a poor write up, but I don't think that's fair. True, the annex rooms are basic - bit more 2* hostel than 3* hotel - BUT they all have balcony, sea view and a brilliant location directly above a small friendly bay (for swimming) and a couple of hundred metres walk along a pedestrian esplanade straight into the town, quay, excellent restaurants etc etc. The main hotel is grander but has fewer sea view rooms and would not be so convenient for beach bumming around. So it depends what you want. Also you have full access to the main hotel and breakfast on the top-notch sea view terrace. The location in Hvar is brilliant and we had a great time. Staff very helpful when needed. If room furnishing standard is critical, it's not for you, but if view, location and access to beach and town do the trick it could be fine.

Good location but very poor standards.

This hotel is in a great spot. However, this is about the only positive. For the price you pay other accommodation would be much better. The maintenance is generally poor and the rooms have no Air Con!! Also, if you book and it states 'dependance' or 'annex' this means you are not staying in the hotel itself but accommodation 30 seconds away. This beach lodge is not impressive. I would not stay here again.

Expensive for Croatia, but probably reasonable for

I wasn't expecting air conditioning but thought the room would at least have a wall mounted fan.

Hotel Dalmacija - great location, not much more

The best thing about Hotel Dalmacija is the location - right on the waterfront less than 5 minutes walk from Hvar's main square. There's a great swimming spot right outside the front door and a small pebbly beach just a minute's walk along the waterfront. The views from the rooms with sea view are stunning. The top floor balconies must be one of the best places in town not only to watch the comings and going of yachts and boats from the harbour but to have a grandstand view of the sunset each evening. So that's the good news. The bad news? The decor is a bit drab. The rooms are clean but basic. Everything is functional but certainly no more than that. There's little in the way of mod-cons such as airconditioning (something of a drawback on a humid summer night) although our room did have a desk fan. Breakfast is really nothing to write home about so don't expect a feast. If you want high-end luxury, try the Adriana or the Riva. For something a bit cheaper, try the Palace or the Amfora. This is for people on a budget (during our stay it seemed to be popular with middle-aged Croatian couples) However, if you're on a budget and aren't TOO fussy, just looking for somewhere clean and comfortable with a great location, you could do worse.

YOU ONLY PAY FOR THE LOCATION

The hotel is very well located, not far from the main port (where you get dropped off from the ferry) and opposite a small beach- very convienient for getting into the centre. However, this is the only feature you pay the big price for- the hotel staff were OK but not overly helpful (when we first got there our room had no lights, the balcony door wouldn't shut despite being on the ground floor and our toilet door had no lock at all, no hairdryer either). No air con in rooms- stuffy! The room is basically hostel standard and for the price they charge, is quite frankly a rip off. You would be much better staying in an apartment- which is what we did for our last few nights, with air con, kitchen, nicer room- but for an extra 5 minute walk and for less than half the price we were more than happy with this!

2 nights in Hvar 'hotel'

The main hotel is nice, however the annexe building we were placed in was not good (room 45). Initially there was no electricity which I reported to reception and a member of staff was sent along to fix it. The main fuse boxes had some bare copper wires showing and the person sent (from the beautician part of the hotel) didn't know how to fix it. I ended up (on the advice of the receptionist) having to look at the fuse boxes on the other floors to work out how to turn the fuses back on for the whole floor. Our room had been recently, but poorly, decorated. There was no lock on the balcony door and as we were at the lowest level somebody easily have climbed in. Front desk lady was pretty unhelpful and was refusing to move our room without charging extra. She also refused to call her manager as it was about 7pm and the manager had gone home. After much discussion/arguing she eventually gave in. The second room in the main building (111) was what I would have expected with a nice view and I wouldn't have had an issue if we were here from the start. The annexe building also has a 2 star plaque on the wall although we had paid for 3 star accommodation - apparently the annexe building is 3 star but the plaque hadn't been updated. The annexe building however was definitely not 3 star quality

Perfect location and wonderful balcony views

The perfect location, just 2 minutes walk from the old town with a small area of beach just below. The room itself was quite basic but that didn't matter as the view from the balcony was amazing. We stayed in room 301 on the 3rd floor which was by far the best as we could see sunrise and sunset. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Dalmacija Hvar Villa Hotel

This is a charming older style Hotel, well situated in a very friendly historic port. The hotel is about 120 meters from where the catamaran drops you off. However it is very easy to walk past the archway into the hotel as it is not well signed. If you get to the first little beach you have gone way past the hotel. Staff at the hotel spoke good english and where very friendly and helpful. The room was a little dated with no air con, but very clean and comfortable. The shower was ok.The view from the balcony was absolutely fantastic. We went snorkelling right outside the hotel. At the time we stayed (june 2010) the hotel offered breakfast at a local restaurant about 150 meters away right on the harbour front. This was a full buffet breakfast and was first class.Infact it was one of the best bits of our holiday. The Hotel is ideally situated to all the local bars and restaurants around the harbour.Water taxis to the local beaches and islands are also very close by. If you seek charm and stunning views over mod cons, this is the one for you.

Great Location

From looking on the map, this hotel looks further away from the centre of Hvar town than it actually is. It's 2 minutes walk!!. They don't provide any meals so if you book bed & breakfast you get the priviledge of eating in the 4* hotel round the corner (same hotel group). It's served until 12 every day and well worth going for. The room was a bit tired and dated but the sea view and balcony certainly made up for it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Hvar town.
