Conveniently located with great service

Anne was amazingly helpful in organising trips and making suggestions about your companies. The hotel was a couple of minutes walk from the beach, 15 minutes walk to the main restaurants/shops and marina of port Douglas. The place had a very cute and friendly atmosphere.

Anne made us feel so welcome, from the moment we stepped out of the cab. We stayed in a two bedroom/two bathroom apartment. it was very spacious and well equipped and very clean. The pool area was clean and inviting, somewhere nice to relax. I have no negative feedback, as this property was lovely inside and out. I would have liked a tv in the bedroom, but that is not a criticism only personal preference. A note of a recommendation that I would have liked is to maybe have a vending machine, with soft drinks and snacks. I think that this could be a viable asset to the property. I would highly recommend this property with no hesitation. Thank you for making us feel so very welcome and valued. xx

Nice resort close to town.

We had a fabulous time in Port Douglas. The Freestyle resort was comfortable and handy for town. Anne, the owner, is most helpful. Good value for money.

The Freestyle is the perfect location with only a short walk (5-8 mins) to either the beach or the shops. Anne, our host, was great and the 2 bedroom apartment was ideal as it also has two bathrooms and with 4 females getting ready at once it was a godsend. Facilities, amenities at the Freestyle were ideal. The apartment itself had everything we needed for eating in too like crockery, cutlery, dishes etc and Anne had left a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee so we could have a cuppa after our trip. Toiletries were also provided, hair shampoo and conditioner and soap and tissues.

Excellent location in beautiful resort

Warm welcome from wonderful managers who couldn't do enough to make our stay so memorable. Lovely surrounds with a nice pool and everywhere so clean. Nothing appeared too much trouble from booking trips to providing clean pool towels.

Great location and great hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for the hotelier Anne. Goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. Was very welcoming and helpful to both me and my wife with late check in and a car issue when someone reversed into us, definetly went over and above.

Port Douglas was an amazing place. The trips we took, especially the Daintree, were wonderful. Our accommodation at Freestyle was really comfortable. There was a beautiful pool. Anne, the owner, was helpful. Nothing was too much trouble & she was always on hand.

Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff

I spent 4 nights at Freestyle Resort as a solo traveler. Anne, one of the owners, could not have been more helpful in getting transport for me when I was stuck at Cairns airport. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The kitchen was well equipped, as was the bathroom. Anne was also very helpful with advice on restaurants in Port Douglas, shops etc. and where to get good photos of the native wildlife. The hotel is a short, flat walk from the centre of Port Douglas and is set back from the road. I had a room at the back which was very quiet. All in all I was very pleased with having chosen Freestyle and cannot fault it in any way. I would definitely recommend it.

Very Good Stay

We stayed 4 nights and were very happy with our one bed apartment and all aspects of our stay. We were greeted on arrival by the site manager who was so friendly and after completing formalities she took us to the apartment and ensured we were happy with how everything worked. She then spent time helping us organise the trips we wanted during our stay and booked them all for us. She certainly exceeded our expectations and it is this high level of personal service that confirms the deserved excellent rating.

Great Location and wonderful experience. May 2015

Our first visit Down Under and our expectations were exceeded by far! Couldn't have asked for more from Freestyle Resort. Situated just a short stroll to all local amenities and beach. Hotel room was very comfortable and kitchenette was well equipped with all the facilities you need. Bed so comfortable and room spotlessly clean. Great view from room overlooking pool area with it's tranquil and well designed garden. Room had a large balcony on which to relax. Ann and Jason, the Resort Managers were so knowledgeable, helping us make informed choices on which excursions (and operators) best suited our needs We stayed here during a quiet period and Ann was able to upgrade our room. Would definitely stay again and no hesitation in recommending

Get the most out of a short trip to Port Douglas

As we had no experience of Port Douglas we booked 4 nights at the Freestyle Hotel largely based on it being in the price bracket and on customer reviews. It was in a convenient location - an 8 minute walk to Macrossan Street (the main street in Port Douglas which is packed with restaurants and shops). The hotel was well maintained and the rooms were comfortable with effective AIr Conditioning (which is an absolute must as it is very hot and humid), an open plan lounge/kitchen area which was more than adequate and separate bedroom with a good sized double bed. The best feature of the hotel however was the service we received from the hotel manager - Anne. She knew the area and the local people very well and was an absolute gem, organising airport transfers, excursions to the Reef and the Daintree Rainforest (a must for anyone going to Port Douglas), and generally doing anything she could to make us feel welcome and get the most out of our stay.

Freestyle is a lovely purpose built holiday condo, with a great relaxed friendly atmosphere. [...] and [...] make you very welcome, and couldn't be more helpful. the apartment was modern, well furnished and spotless, with a balcony overlooking the pool. therewas a good range of kitchen equipment, which was a good job as we couldn't afford Port Douglas restaurant prices every night! if you are looking for self catering accommodation within easy walking distance of Port Douglas centre, at a reasonable rate, it's hard to fault Freestyle. had a great time.

Freestyle is NOT your average hotel or apartment rental! It is the best of both worlds. Family of 4 stayed in 2-bedroom x 5 nights mid-summer wet season, with day trips to Daintree and to reef dives. ANNE is the local friend you didn't know you needed! From grocery and restaurant tips, to loaning a USB adapter to offering to exchange $1 coins for the on-site washer/dryer facility, SHE is what turns a good holiday into a REMARKABLE one! Room, property, parking and pool all stellar. We will be back in Port Douglas again to stay @ Freestyle!

We had a fantastic stay at Freestyle resort. Excellent location, walking distance to shops, beach and marina. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Anne was lovely and very helpful, providing us with a porta cot and baby bath for our 4 month old baby. The pool was great, our baby had her first ever swim in it and she loved it. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Port Douglas 😊

Had a great stay recently at Freestyle. It's clean and comfortable and the rooms had everything we needed. Pool was heated, which was nice. Location is great, only a short walk to the beach and not much further to town. Anne was super helpful with information about where to eat, tours, transport and anything else we asked about.
