This hotel was in a fantastic location in Melbourne. Very clean, modern and spacious all for a reasonable price.

In need of refurbishment!

4* hotel? 3 at most. It is tired & in need of refurbishment. Our suite overlooked a dirty back alley with only the grubby walls opposite to look out on. One night the down & outs congregated in the alley until 4am causing a nuisance. It is not a hotel with the usual hotel facilities they are serviced apartments (serviced every 3rd day & we only stayed 3 nights…..though we were provided with extra towels) On the plus side the suite was spacious, the linen was clean, the staff were friendly & helpful, & the ‘hotel’ is conveniently located in the CBD.

The room we were given was huge, had a great balcony overlooking the main street. There was enough room to have a barbecue party , with a grill already present. We loved our stay there and wished we had planned to stay there longer. Perfect location to experience the highlights of the city centre and for shopping

The room had everything we needed and was very clean. Service from Reception was outstanding. Location Bangalore in the middle of the CBD was phenomenal. The room looked tired and furniture was basic.

Good value hotel in an excellent location.

A good budget hotel in a great central location. We were greeted by friendly staff & upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment which was clean & well equipped with views over the street. The only criticism was the general appearance of the hotel. Everywhere looked tired & bland and in need of some refurbishments & redecoration. A few embellishments such as pictures would help to give rooms and corridors a more relaxed and welcoming feel. Overall a clean, comfortable place to stay at a good price in a great location.

Tiny entrance and hard to find

Once up the lift and into the room was then you could appreciate the space Wonderful location central to shopping and easy walking distance to anything plus tram out the door I will visit this place again!!!

Unlucky

Adara Collins is in a great location. However, if your given a room on Level 1 you are likely to have a dark room (very little natural light filtering in) with the view of the neighbouring theatre's alley and dumpster site. We stayed 4 nights and this is the 1 bedroom apartment we were given. Unfortunately on our second to last day there, we woke up to find a mouse in the apartment. I hate to think how long it had been in the apartment for. Further more we found out that 2 other apartments on that floor had complained of mice in their rooms that same morning. Reception reacted quickly and moved us to Level 4 within 30 minutes of our complaint. The room on Level 4 was far better and I feel disgruntled that we had booked a 4 night stay and we were not given a room on a higher floor. It was bigger, cleaner, a lot of natural light with a glimpse of Melbourne skyline. If we were given a room on a higher floor (considering we were there 4 nights and we were not to know that you could get more natural light and better views higher up) and there was no mice, I would have rated the hotel higher. Moral of the story, ask for a room on a higher floor. I'd like to think that by the time this review is published they would have resolved the mice issue.

Conveniently located

On arriving we asked for a room on a higher level (as I had read from previous reviews that it was quieter) but the rooms were all full that night, they couldn't accommodate us, and said we could try the next morning. We decided the next day not to ask to be moved as it wasn't as noisy as we thought it would be. We were in room 104, which is right next door to the gym and the complimentary laundry (both of which we planned to use). Our room looked out onto a back little alley, and there was some noise early morning and late at night, but nothing very disturbing. I know that previous reviews mentioned the smell of the Teppanyaki restaurant coming up, well yes, this is true, but can only be smelt in the passage leading you to your room and not in your room. There was also no disturbance from the laundry and gym been right next door. It is situated very conveniently to everything in the CBD. Close to public transport, one block away from the Yarra River and visitor information centre. And a free tram service runs around the perimeter and within the CBD. Unfortunately, the gym was not that great. When my husband wanted to use the treadmill, it wasn't working. And we found cigarette butts on the floor. Cleanliness was okay. Every day the room was cleaned, but not exceptionally. Bed was made, but floors weren't vacuumed everyday. All in all, this was a great place to stay in for our time in Melbourne.

Perfect location for a Melbourne stay

the Adara was great location for our stay - pre-stay, the staff answered and helped us with all our queries and when we arrived were happy to work with us to get the right room for our stay even though they were busy. Room was great for all of us - large enough for a family and the location was perfect so we could all do what we wanted and didn't have to co-ordinate too much. Make a very memorable trip to Melbourne

Great apartments - BEST location

I'll definitely be back here - the apartments were great. Clean, friendly staff, spacious, easy checkin & out. Nice separate living area with couches & TV. And the location is the best - about 4 mins to Fed Square, 4 mins to breakfast in a laneway, close to Flinders St Station & the river. Have already recommended to friends & family. And cheap compared to a lot of the hotels nearby that I normally stay in.

There is no reception. They expect you to call a call centre to get an understanding of how to pick up keys. Your international phone roaming bill will cross few hundreds as the call centre wait os too long. Also the information you get from call centre is not 100% correct. It was a big struggle to find a room key to check in. It took 2 hours for me after tiring international flight
