Bilbao Ametzola Station apartments

What a wonderful view from this apartment - you’ll not be disappointed. Had a little difficulty finding it but that was our fault not reading the instructions properly. Property manager was both patient and helpful to our messagesParked at top of hill (8-10 minutes) as there was a regatta but wasn’t hard and lovely walk back down

Igor ad Alicia were very welcoming and helpful hosts. This is a beautiful property (despite all the stairs!) and we immediately felt at home. Very well equipped kitchen, so easy to to do our own cooking. All the rooms were a good size and beautifully decoratedLots of information (in multiple languages) about things to do in the area as well as tips re places to eat and local supermarkets.Lovely kids room with plenty of toys and games.A very peaceful location - and a great pace to start our three-week road trip around northern Spain.

Light and airy in a great location on the waterfront

Delightful accommodation in the hills behind Bakio. Excellent security of the property and individual apartments. Great location for exploring the coastal region and centres such as Bilbao and Guernica.

The place is so welcoming that I nearly extended my stay. It is also very quiet. In fact, I hardly met any of the neighbours. The only reason this did not materialise is that I have other commitments back home. I think the place is a magnet. I shall always go back whenever I get the chance.

We wanted to stay in this area at the end of our three month tour of Europe so that we could get the ferry home from Bilbao We are so happy that we chose this accommodation The apartment is small but well furnished with everything you need for a self catering stay. It is a 15 minute walk to the local town which has loads of bars and restaurants and a short drive to several large supermarkets However the best aspect of this rental was the owner Xabier. Right from booking we had excellent communication especially regarding our questions about parking our camper van on site. On arrival we were so warmly greeted and he had left us loads of extras like beer, milk, juice, chocolates and a lovely cake - thank you! We decided to hire a small car for a few days rather than drive the van around and Xabier took us to the Airport to collect it and back again to drop it off which was so appreciated. He also gave us loads of advice on where to go in this gorgeous area so many that we did not get to see them all in the time we had - maybe next year. The apartment is in a rural area which is so quiet but as said in a short drive or walk you are in the town There are also good transport links so if you want to you can get a bus/train to Bilbao and Donesta (San Sebastián) both of which are really worth visiting We have really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to experience living in the Basque Country Thank you so much Xabier
