Greve in Chianti cottages

This property is truly a gem. It is clean, warm and inviting. And the view……! You wake up to a stunning panoramic view of the Tuscan landscape every morning and watch the sun set into it each evening. It is a very short walk to the town center where there are several delicious restaurants. The kitchen is fully equipped should you want to just hang out in your home away from home and prepare your own meal from the freshest ingredients found at the supermarket which is equally a short walk away. Our hosts were there to greet us and Carlo provided a very in depth orientation to the property. He also answered numerous questions from us first time travelers to Italy! Flora is so lovely and she, too, spent precious time with us to provide so much information about the area. She even gave us a sample of her homemade jam made from the fruit found right there in their orchard - thank you so much Flora - it was delicious! Travel note: there are no taxis in San Casciano (they are dispatched from Florence - but they are reliable) so keep that in mind if you chose not to rent your own vehicle. However, there is a bus service readily accessible in the village which you can then connect to trains, etc. for touring the area. But, there’s plenty to do and see within walking distance of Il Viscola! This is a quiet, secret, unexpected little bit of paradise that should not be missed! So, sit back, pour a glass of Chianti Classico and take in all that is Tuscany!

The house looks just like the photos. It is in amazing setting and the views are wonderful. Lucrezi, the owner is very and helpful and lives in the house behind the villa. Panzano is a 15 minute walk away, but please note a lot of it is a dirt track. The village itself is small with just a couple of restaurants, gelaterias and a few shops. The Sunday market is worth a visit. The main bedroom has a small bathroom and if you're tall it's difficult to stand up straight. The only other downside was that there were only three sunbeds, so as a family of four someone always had the deckchair. All in all though, a lovely villa in a lovely location. Would definitely recommend.

Great location for Tuscany sites (although down a gravel track), superb host, excellent stay.

Wonderful property in wonderful location but the best thing about it is the wonderful, friendly and helpful family who run it!

Paola and Riccardo are wonderful people, and their apartments are great! Very clean and spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen, great swimming pool and not many flies, wasps and mosquitos. The oil, wine and vinegar they produce and sell are very good too! We will defenitly come back here!

We had a lovely 12 day stay in this charming little villa near Tuscany. Loretta was a wonderful host and the location was perfect for us. We enjoyed exploring Sienna, Florence and nearby Poggibonsi, but days in the pool at the villa were hard to beat (especially with the 40 degree heat).

Enjoyed our stay at Sant' Andrea a Cellole. Marzio, Adela and Mauro were always very welcoming and helpful with tips on restaurants, places to visit and where to park. The holiday house is lovely, part of a larger, historical building and set in beautiful countryside. We enjoyed eating outside on the little shady terrace and the swimming pool is fantastic. We will also miss the friendly dogs, Bounty and Nelson. Thoroughly recommend.
