Razines cottages

A great holiday home away from the crowds, but close to many attractions of the Loire Valley. The house is located on a large private estate, amidst trees and half-encircled by an old moat. There is a lovely lawn in front of the house, great for breakfasts and dinners. Caroline, the owner, was really kind and helpful. There is a good food store within about 5-7 minutes of driving, and a couple of nice restaurants too. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be glad to return. P.S. One caveat: there were some mosquitoes during our stay, which did not bother us very much, but you may wish to have a repellent in your bag just in case.

The property was clean and well equipped for our stay. The ‘extras’ such as games, garden furniture and a pool made all the difference. The owners who lived next door were extremely helpful without being intrusive. The welcome gifts of wine and cheese were much appreciated. We would highly recommend!

We adored Le Peuplier Billard. A truly wonderful, comfortable and spacious house in a superb, quiet and tranquil location. Monsieur Gager was a charming host and gave us lots of useful information about the area. We highly recommend this property and it's owner. It surpasses the publicity!

We have had an amazing week in the most beautiful historic setting. Mark and Christine made the stay exceptional with their generous hospitality, kindness and warmth. They had so much information to share about the location and property and gave superb advice on places to visit in the local area. The stone built accommodation was lovely and cool in the heat and we enjoyed using the swimming pool. We felt very relaxed and look forward to returning.

We loved our stay at Jasmine Cottage. It was so relaxing. The cottage is really comfortable and well-appointed indoors, and having a downstairs bedroom is really handy, though we spent nearly all our time outdoors as the weather was lovely and the garden and facilities were wonderful. There is lots of choice for seating in sun and in shade, and the pool was the perfect spot to cool down. The area is very quiet and although there are plenty of places to explore locally we were having such a good time we only left the cottage to pick up supplies and to enjoy Chinon Market (very nice produce!). The property is on the edge of the town, less than 2 minutes from a supermarket and 5 minutes from the town centre. The property is excellent for two people who need to be mobile as it is up a flight of stairs. All the amenities you need are there and the property is bright and airy. The only down side is that your outside space is down the steps and half way down the garden, also there is two gites but i only saw the one outside eating area. The local town is lovely, lots of art shops, restaurants and bars. busy during the day but much quieter in the evening. We very much enjoyed out stay and you are only 3 minutes from the motorway fir getting about the area. Excellent value and great location.

Bernadette and Claude were very friendly and so helpful. We were given a very warm welcome when we arrived after a 6 hour drive from Calais. The gite was well equipped and very clean. It had everything needed to cook, launder etc as well as TV and internet for relaxing. There was plenty of space to eat and relax outside as well as a large swimming pool. It is in a lovely peaceful location within easy reach of some major towns.

We loved staying in this house, it was spacious for the four of us and very well equipped. The hosts were very welcoming and the pool was a real bonus to enjoy. It's in a very quiet location but within easy reach of lots of sites. We particularly enjoyed the gardens at Villandry and exploring the Chinon fortress. I can definitely recommend staying in this property.
