Large very well equipped 3 bed, 2 bathroom, 2 balcony apartment right in the center of Funchal,, no more that 5mins walk to all attractions, and only 2muns to nearest bars and restaurants. Apartment already provides lots of kitchen consumables such as coffee, spices, washing tablets for self catering so check thoughrly what you need before shopping.Owners met us in person for checkin, and communication was via email or WhatsApp. No issues at all, would defo use again.

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Ocean Cliff Villa. It was the perfect place for our multi-generational family to enjoy time together. The villa is well appointed with a great outdoor space and a beautiful pool. The car hire - also arranged with the owners - worked brilliantly as well, with the car waiting on arrival. Communication with the owners was excellent-special thanks to Carlos for returning to the airport with a forgotten item ! Highly recommended.

A great apartment in an excellent location. Bruno has a wealth of information ready for you to make the most of Madeira. Everything you need is there, the only thing to be aware of is the parking space is quite narrow so do not get a wide car!

The villa is perfect if you want a quiet holiday away from noisy neighbours. It’s extremely private and not overlooked. The Villa has 2 bedrooms on the upper floor with a bathroom and there’s a 3rd bedroom downstairs again with a full bathroom. Outside there’s an amazing pool well heated ( was 27-29C while we were there). There is also an outdoor kitchen area with a shower and toilet to save walking through the house with wet feet. Pool towels and bath towels were provided. The villa gets sun from early morning through to sunset, we were there late June for 12 days and had 10 full days of sun and 2 half days. Manuel does a lot of work in the adjoining mango tree orchards so we met regularly. Nothing was ever a problem. There are 2 chickens and a rooster ( don’t worry you can hardly hear the rooster when it crows). Trying to find eggs daily was a fun activity as on 10 of the 12 days the chickens didn’t lay eggs in their pen lol. Practice your hill starts if driving a car as Madeira has a lot of twisty steep roads. We loved it so much we have already reserved the villa for next year. Thank you Manuel for your hospitality. Great property - just beautiful views. Pool was fabulous. Village lovely. Close to the lovely beach and dolphin watching at Calheta; reasonably easy to access Funchal for days out with a hire car. The only downside (and it was quite significant) was the road closure to Jardim do Mar. Not only did this increase travel times each day, we had a very difficult 10 minute descent and ascent each day. Hiring a car and driving on the right was harrowing enough, but the sharp bends and sheer drops caused panic. It took the week to get used to the route. We would use the property again, but only when the diversion is eradicated. The locals are used to such roads, but oversees visitors may find this very overwhelming. I’m a confident driver but this drive worried me.

OK, this was our first VRBO booking and it will certainly not be our last. With all the C19 rubbish going on - they have been brilliant with cancellations and refunds. On to our stay at the "Sun & Moon" at Arco da Calheta. It was brilliant. From the start, the comms from Christina were spot on - nice and regular with lots of information. We were 4 hours late landing - but still met up and drove up into the hills. The location (for us) was spot-on. We didn't want to be in Funchal or mass-produced hotel on the coast and the villa is nestled in the hills up some windy roads. Views are really great at all times of the day, and nice and quiet. The villa was spotlessly clean and Dora the cleaner didn't leave any stone unturned - even doing our washing when we were out fot the day which was a nice surprise! Our daughter spent every hour at the villa in the pool - a nice temperature when you got in. Pool towels were provided which cut down on our luggage weight considerably. The main bedroom's bed is massive and comfy mattress - a really good night sleep. The BBQ/ pizza oven annex is really great as well - we BBQ'd a lot. But it was the little touches that really stand out - like cotton buds being provided. Having two teenagers we were relieved the wifi was quick and reliable. The place even comes with its own secure garage (not massive, but we got our rental Focus Estate in there). Locally there are supermarkets (scary parking) and only 20 minutes to Funchal with a really easy drive. We parked in CR7 car park on the sea front and it wasn't massively expensive. In fact, most places on the island are no more than an hour's drive from the villa. We really enjoyed the stay and cannot thank Christina enough for making our holiday special.
