Wonderful visit

V welcoming, clean and cosy property with THE most comfy beds ever worn gorgeous crisp white linen. Hosts so friendly too linen. V friendly hosts too.

On the farm

Located just outside Keswick, we walked into the centre reasonably easily. The views are good across the sheep fields. The accommodation is well presented with very comfortable beds, kitchen is adequate for self catering though as is common the knives provided were blunt. I always take my own.

Wonderful Place

Had a great time in the accommodation it was perfect. Very clean and had everything we wanted for our couple of nights stay. The place was warm and cosy and beds were amazing so comfy. Highly recommend it as a quiet rural place that is near lots of things to do. It is well equipped and felt homely with the log burner on in the evening. A great place for a romantic break away from it all or with a couple of family or friends. Had an excellent time and didn't want to leave.

This is the place you want to stay.

I was very impressed at this very welcoming cottage. It is the ideal location to stay. It is situated on a sheep farm and the landscape and scenery is gorgeous outside. It is the ideal location near Keswick. We came in on Nov. 27th and found the heat wasn't registering and I went next door to knock on door and the gentlemen (Jack) was very nice and willing to help us out. We were also missing firewood to burn in the wood stove and he was very helpful to get us some. He brought us 2 electric heaters to help us heat the cottage faster. I can not say enough how nice this cottage was and would definitely book Mary Rook Cottage again when coming to the Lake District and will recommend this to my friends if they choose to come this way. Thx for making are stay perfect even if it was raining most of the time.

Stunning cottage in a wonderful location for us. Keswick is just about walking distance and can head straight into the hills from the front door. Well equiped cottage and a lovely space to spend some time. Will return. Only negatives- wifi was very slow - probably unavoidable in the location. Not convinced that the heating was working properly in one of the bedrooms (but wasn't a big problem).

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic place. Surrounded by hills, peace and tranquility. It's beautifully clean and well presented, cosy, snug and has all that you need. It really is a gem of a find and I will definitely be returning.

Lovely cottage in a equally lovely location. Quiet Rural setting but within easy reach of Keswick with all its shopping & amenities. Skiddaw & Latrigg are close by for a challenging or easy hike . The nearest pub The Pheasant Inn is less than a mile away & is child & dog friendly with outdoor seating to the front & rear. Food is served in the evenings at reasonable prices, but probably best to book in advance as it's very popular.

This proved an ideal base for our holiday on the lakes.

This proved an ideal base for our holiday on the lakes. The A66 is just half a mile away and this gives quick access to various destinations. A short walk, either over the fields or down the road gives access to Keswick. A good base to also start local walks e.g. Latrigg or Swiddaw. The weather was very kind to us with plenty of warmth and sunshine. Generally well maintained although minor adjustments are necessary. The only real downside was the very poor wifi.

What a gem of a cottage in a wonderfully scenic location.

What a gem of a cottage in a wonderfully scenic location. Walks from the doorstep and just a short drive to Derwent Water and all it offers. The owners have thought of everything and with two bedrooms and bathrooms it is perfect for two couples sharing. We had marvellous weather so had no need for the underfloor heating or wood burning stove but in the colder winter months I imagine it would be super cosy. Excellent supermarket in Keswick plus many good restaurants and pubs all around. Definitely want to return.

Such a fantastic home.

Such a fantastic home. It was wonderfully clean and very well equipped with the added bonus of a log burner. Beautifully maintained. A really nice setting and only down the road from Keswick.

Everything we needed for a relaxing break. Well equiped and comfortable, in a very quiet and peaceful area. Easy access to Keswick and the surrounding area and fells. Small issue was poor phone signal and wifi which tends to be expected in rural areas.
