About this property
Little Holme - family- and pet-friendly spacious annexe close to amenities
Little Holme is a spacious 2-bedroom cottage attached to our family home, a traditional timber-framed house built in the fifteenth century.
We are in Eardisley, a black-and-white village with a pub/ café/ second-hand bookshop/ post office, a village shop and a Norman church with a spectacular Romanesque font – all within walking distance.
Eardisley lies in rural North Herefordshire, 15 miles north-west of Hereford, making this an ideal base from which to explore the historic towns and beautiful countryside of the Welsh borders – including the Wye Valley, Hay on Wye (15 mins), Kington and Hergest Ridge (10 mins), the Brecon Beacons National Park (25 mins), Leominster (20 mins), Hereford (25 mins). The foodie town of Ludlow, with its fine castle, church and Georgian architecture, is only 45 minutes’ away. There are three Nature Reserves within walking distance of the village, a network of footpaths for hikers and dog walkers, and country lanes to explore by bike. A local bus service connects the village with Hereford and Almeley.
Local attractions include the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre near Kington, Monkton Cheese dairy and shop, the Judge’s Lodging in Presteigne, traditional cider makers (including Gwatkins, Olivers and Orgasmic), Oakchurch Farm Shop, National Trust property Berrington Hall, Hay on Wye Town of Books, the black-and-white villages of Weobley and Pembridge, Hergest Croft Gardens in Kington. Outdoor activities include canoeing/ kayaking on the River Wye, wild swimming at nearby Bredwardine, pony trekking, and quad biking, paintball and high ropes at Oaker Wood Leisure. Kington Golf Club on Bradnor Hill is England’s highest 18-hole course, playable all year.
Little Holme is newly renovated and fully equipped for families and couples looking to explore the local area. The property is south-facing and has central heating with double-glazing. Downstairs comprises a spacious sitting-room/ diner with wood-burner, fully-fitted kitchen (also with seating), WC and hallway. Upstairs are two bedrooms (a spacious double with large walk-in wardrobe, and a comfortable twin room), a WC/ shower room and landing. The property stands on a quiet side road, with gated, off-street parking for two cars.
Other amenities provided in the property include: dishwasher, washing machine and clothes airer, oven/hob, microwave, travel cot, baby bath, stair gate and high chair, books to read, children’s toys, games, a chess set and a variety of DVDs, along with freesat TV/radio. A tumble dryer is available on request. Towels and linen are included, as well as basic store cupboard ingredients.
We run local publishing company Logaston Press from the main house, and Little Holme is equipped with an extensive library of Logaston Press publications about the local area, including walks guides, for use during your stay (with copies available for purchase).
Up to two dogs are welcome, but pets are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs, and should not be left alone in the house. Dogs need to be child-friendly or appropriate warnings need to be given. A large plastic dog bed is available on request.
Little Holme is attached to our family home, and you may encounter us or our children from time to time – for example in the garden, which serves the main house as well as the cottage. However, we are a friendly bunch and will do all we can to ensure a peaceful and relaxing stay. We look forward to meeting you and very much hope that you enjoy your stay with us.

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and had modern appliances. All together it was a great house with a nice host that gives an explanation for the important things to know.
Su and family were incredibly welcoming to our young family, having a travel cot and baby bath available saved us some bulky packing and the place was well set up for a young family. Delicious flapjacks on arrival, lots of local information available and a great base or exploring the local area.
A lovely comfy, clean little cottage in a pretty village. Flapjacks and tea were a very warm welcome! We’d definitely recommend for families as there’s lots of great places to visit nearby.
A true home from home, everything you need is provided and the cottage is comfortable, and spotless. We had a perfect stay whilst visiting family in the area. Would definitely return.
This is a lovely property with everything you can possibly need. Situated in a beautiful black and white village and near to many lovely places to visit
Spotless, comfortable and well equipped. Great location
Great location for exploring a beautiful area. Little Holme comfortable and well equipped, hosts welcoming - wonderful flapjack- thank you. So much information and so many interesting places nearby.
We had a great time at Little Holme -- perfect for our family stay in the area, beautifully furnished in a gorgeous area, and with absolutely everything we needed for two young children from toys to baby bath to kitchen equipment. Would definitely recommend-- thanks, Su and
Richard!
Well equipped, comfortable and cosy cottage. Has everything you need for your stay. Good location to visit Hay on Wye. Friendly property owner, on hand if you need anything. We enjoyed a quiet and relaxing break.
We stayed for 3 nights at Little Holme. I wish it had been longer. A beautifully presented property, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely hosts too. Perfect!
The house was as advertised, the host helpful most enjoyable stay. One slight quibble the road to the side of the property is more a road than a lane.

Hi Mike and Chris, thanks for the note about the road - I have amended the listing to remove the word 'lane'. Almeley Road is generally a very quiet residential road leading to the countryside, though it can get a bit busier with farm vehicles around harvest time. Glad you had an enjoyable stay. All best, Su
Stayed for 3 nights to see friends in various places around the area. Great cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. Everyone very friendly. Would highly recommend.
