About this property
Outshot Barn - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, Hay-on-Wye
Sitting in a secluded position between Hereford and Hay-on-Wye, Outshot Barn is a stylish and modern farm stay. Approached along a country lane you arrive on the farm to be greeted by free-roaming chickens and fields of livestock. It is a peaceful getaway where you can embrace the outdoors and enjoy time relaxing in the outdoor heated swimming pool (open Easter-October half term, weather dependant).
The highlight of the barn is the open-plan living area with its high ceilings and bi-fold doors. Open these doors to the garden to create a wonderful space, serving meals al fresco and gazing out to the hills in the distance. The décor combines rustic country living and modern industrial with contemporary light fittings, wood-clad walls and traditional furniture. It is a comfortable space that makes you feel at ease as you sink into the sofa and relax in front of the woodburner. The comfortable boutique-style bedrooms provide flexibility with a super king-size and a twin which can be a double on request. With plump, fluffy bedding and an en-suite each, you have your own privacy and space.
The private outdoor heated pool is the icing on the cake at Outshot Barn. You will spend most of your time outside, splashing in the pool, soaking in the country air and taking the dogs on long, rambling walks. The surrounding Herefordshire countryside is waiting to be explored with ruined castles, black and white villages and historic towns, or head into the Brecon Beacons for an exhilarating hike.
Ground floor
Open-plan living/dining/kitchen:
With a high ceiling and large bi-fold doors this is an impressive space. A three-seater sofa and two armchairs gather around the wood-burning stove and Smart TV for cosy evenings in. There is a dining table seating four and a well-equipped kitchen with a large Rangemaster oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and small appliances.
Bedroom One:
The super king-size bed has a stylish headboard and comfortable bedding to ensure a great night's sleep at the end of the day. The blinds add a splash of colour with hot pink pheasants serving as a reminder to your rural setting. A chest of drawers and hanging rail provide storage and you have views out to the swimming pool and neighbouring fields.
En-Suite:
The first en-suite has a large walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head for a spa-like experience. There is also a WC and sink.
Bedroom Two:
Adding flexibility to the sleeping arrangements this room has twin beds which can be set up as a super king-size on request. There are two bedside chests of drawers, a hanging rail, and the lamps include a nod to the surrounding farmland with a rabbit and fox adorning the base.
En-Suite:
The second en-suite has a spacious double-ended bath with a shower above. It is perfect for soaking tired legs after a great day spent exploring on foot. There is also a WC and sink.
Outside
To the front of the cottage, you have a private gravelled garden with a table and chairs seating four. This is a gated area perfect for those with children or dogs. Alongside is the outdoor heated swimming pool (open Easter-October half term, weather dependant), bring your inflatables and spend some quality time together as a family. At the end of the day the dark skies in this area make it a fantastic spot to watch the stars as you enjoy an evening drink.
