The haus was so much bigger and impressive in-person. Our family loved the space, location, and how cozy the entire place felt. We all loved exploring the area and were amazed at how cool the place stayed even in 88 degree weather. We slept very well and appreciated the quality sheets and mattresses. Our only set back was that the WiFi was out for the duration of our stay. Our family truly enjoyed ourselves and will be recommending the alpine haus to others. Thanks, Josh!
We spent the weekend hanging with family in town and his place was the perfect central location for doing so. It was very spacious for our family, and the kitchen was top-notch too. We loved our stay here!
We completely enjoyed our stay at Alpine Haus. The town Philipsburg is a real hidden gem with lots to do and being less than 100 steps from a brewery that makes fantastic beer was an extra bonus! The Alpine Haus had everything and more you needed for a comfortable stay and was surprisingly quiet even though it was located on Main Street.
This is a great place to stay especially if you are doing outdoor activities. It is easy to bring skiis and gear in and out. It is also friendly for pets.
I really like this place. It's funky, but well thought out. Once you get used to the nuances/idiosyncrasies it's very comfortable. The natural light and big windows facing south make for a very relaxing atmosphere in the winter time.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
The floors (wood, cement & carpet) had not been vacuumed or swept. The only light in the upstairs loft (with 2 beds) was a floor lamp that did not work. There were 3 types of coffee makers, but no coffee whatsoever! There were 2 soap dispensers in the bathroom, but both were empty. We've stayed in Phillipsburg four times at four different units & this is the only one we've been disappointed with.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
It was dirty, no A/c, too hot, toilet ran continuously, dishes were dirty. Had reservation for two nights and left after one night.
The Alpine Haus is pure "eclectic funk" and I mean that in the best sense. It takes a little bit to get used to regulating the temperature in the winter, but after the second day it was easy. Some unfortunate circumstances led to the place not being cleaned between guests. However, Josh made good on fixing the issue. I'm looking forward to another visit later this winter.
Wonderful! Took us a while to heat up the Japanese tub, but that was all part of the fun. We discussed how an on demand hot water heater could have improved fill time but in the end, we had a lot of fun filling it with boiling water from the stove while waiting for the hot water heater to reheat. We were bucket brigading from the stove! What a hoot! Great memories!
This is a gem! Great location as we fished during the day and could explore in the evenings. Cooked one night and a fabulous stove plus the kitchen has everything including a kitchen aide mixer! Enjoyed the Japanese soaking tub and just followed directions on how to use. Comfy beds and fans that kept us cool . Thank you!
The property was large, unique, well stocked, and a perfect location. The wood stove is a bonus, especially since we had rain and a cold front. We did use the Japanese soaking tub, but needed more hot water. Josh indicated that he was going to build steps and install an on demand heated water system, which would be much better. All in all, this was a wonderful place to stay.
Place was everything as advertised. It was a great, eclectic space that was close to everything that Phillipsburg has to offer. Josh was great to work with and check in/check out couldn’t have been easier! We are planning to come back and would recommend to anyone looking for a historic Montana town with lots of character and great people.
