We had a great week at The Sett.

We had a great week at The Sett. We stayed over New Year, and even though we had a couple of very cold days it was really nice and warm inside the cottage. The quality of all of the furniture, furnishings and appliances was excellent and it was very spacious and light. The views were stunning and it was a very peaceful spot. The owners were great, and it was so nice to have some welcoming treats. The garden was very safe for our dog, which is our top priority whenever we look for a holiday cottage. We had some lovely walks along the Strawberry line, the nature reserve in Burnham, the Cheddar reservoir and we also did the Sharpham Road parkrun. The Pullman cafe at Sandford station was a great find too. 100% recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing break.

Lovely newly renovated cottage with beautiful views.

Lovely newly renovated cottage with beautiful views. Dog treat biscuits, bowls, towels all provided for dog family members! Lots to do in surrounding area with plenty of dog friendly pubs. The cottage garden was not fully enclosed as it was at the end of the owner’s property. The owners ensured their gates to the track were closed so overall al gardens were enclosed. The fence round the garden had holes in so a dog could escape, so we didn’t leave our dog to roam freely in the garden. The location was very peaceful. However the owners were very friendly and helpful. There was fresh bread, cake and milk for us on arrival. The cottage was warm and cosy and had everything anyone would want. It was decorated nicely and was extremely comfortable. We would definitely return.

A lovely property

Great property for small child and dog. Everything spotless and new. Beautiful views and great walks from the door. Managed by cottages.com and I was disappointed with their communication - no response to my online messages. However, the owner was extremely welcoming and helpful.

Wonderful house, exceptionally clean, warm and well presented.

Wonderful house, exceptionally clean, warm and well presented. Lovely calm atmosphere with tranquil views out of huge windows at the back of the house. Cows come as extras. The hosts were kind and accommodating and when the tele stopped working properly the Hugh went out immediately and replaced it with a new set. Nothing was too much trouble and Sonia produced a lovely homemade pie as compensation when we returned from our day out.
