Sunny Mill Valley House With Mt. Tam Views

California indoor-outdoor living at it's best: Our place features a large private sunny deck with views of Mount Tamalpais, ideal for outdoor dining and lounging. Our home is within a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants, hiking and biking trails and just a short 20 minute drive to the beach.

Our house is perfect for couples, families with kids (8 years and older only please) and solo outdoor enthusiasts!

Our home is a sunny and cheerful 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. It is full of charm and boasts a fantastic view of Mount Tamalpais. It features an almost completely renovated open plan living and dinging room, complete with a wood burning fireplace, a newly remodeled state-of-the-art kitchen with high-end appliances including Thermador induction cooktop, refrigerator and feezer, Bosch double ovens and two Fisher-Pykel dishwasher drawers.
There are also two bedrooms plus one bathroom on the main level. The modern and bright bathroom has been recently remodeled. It has a large walk-in shower with a rain shower head and a handheld shower.
The charming master bedroom loft is in the converted attic space with a wall of windows and its own private balcony facing Mount Tamalpais. It also has a private basic/compact bathroom with a stand-up shower.
Our favorite part of our home is the fantastic California indoor-outdoor living: the large sunny deck is perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing and is located right outside the living room and just steps away from the kitchen.
The yard is perfect for kids, complete with a 14' trampoline, fort and a swing set. We also have a ping pong table for some fun tournaments!
The home sits on a quiet street, within a 10 minute easy walk to downtown with its many top-rated restaurants and boutique shops.
Dozens of hiking and mountain biking trails are also waiting for you right up the street.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
We kindly ask that you put all sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases and towels in front of the washer and dryer. No need to start the wash, we will handle the loading and washing.
Please clean all pots and pans by hand and put all dishes, glasses and silverware in the dishwasher and start it prior to leaving.
Turn off all light and the heater. Lock all doors and return the key to the lockbox. Remember to leave the garage door opener.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Our home may not be suitable for those having hard time navigating stairs.

Quintessential MV

This property has everything we’re looking for in a stay in Mill Valley. It’s nestled back in the majestic redwoods but moments away from downtown. The living space, kitchen & main bath are updated and modern. There is lots of natural light and outdoor space. The hosts are very accommodating- ultimately you get the sense over your stay that you’re a permanent resident (which makes departing a big let down ;-). We’ve been to a variety of MV properties and this is clearly one of our favorites - highly recommended.

Fantastic family home in a great location

My family and I just spent Thanksgiving in Mill Valley and stayed at this wonderful, warm home. There was plenty of space, the kitchen is newly remodeled and is extremely well equipped with everything you may need. The beds were all cozy and there were plenty of towels etc in the bathrooms. We spent lots of time enjoying the deck, and the fire pit is key!! It is about a 10 minute walk to town which was so nice, and the Railroad grade trail is just up the street in the other direction which made mountain biking and trail running a breeze. Susanne was lovely, communicative and very helpful. We would come back again for sure!!

We had a magical stay in what we were calling the magical treehouse. The hosts were wonderful, the house was cozy and comfortable .. bright and sunny and everything we had hoped for. Everything we could have needed was their instructions were fantastic I just can’t say enough about this fantastic gem!

We wanted to spend 4 days in Mill Valley in February to unwind in a comfortable home with our two children and this house more than delivered. The home is very well kept and in a beautiful and quiet location. It was in a great spot for our day trips to downtown San Francisco, Stinson Beach and Sausalito all of which are not too far away. We also enjoyed easy access to hiking trails on Mount Tam. Mill Valley itself is very close and provides all the essentials for this type of vacation. Susanne ensured everything was very organized and made our stay easy. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

Beautiful Home in Stunning Location

My family and I rented this home for the christmas holiday, and had a wonderful time. The open plan layout of the main floor really facilities good family interaction. This was the best owner organized rental I have ever experienced. Everything worked like clockwork, and we were able to use the two car garage (parking is a problem in Mill Valley) and all of the appliances, because of the useful laminated instructions. The house was charmingly decorated on our arrival with a christmas tree and Nutcrackers on the mantle. It made us feel warm and welcome. The view of Mount Tam is wonderful, and the overall experience of staying in this home is like living in a luxurious tree house.

My friends and i rented Susanne and Tom's house for a holiday weekend and had the best time. the place is in a beautiful location - up some stairs to the main floor, with treetop views out to Mt Tam and walking distance to downtown Mill Valley shops. The house was comfortable with a large brand new kitchen and everything you could need. Susanne was a pleasure to communicate with; even researched restaurants to help me with (last minute) plans AND left us a lovely gift (cheers to that Susanne!) and a welcome note. i cant imagine a better experience.

We are an active family that loves the outdoors! Our two boys are heavily involved with baseball, basketball, swim team, HipHop as well as Cub and Boy Scouts. We love to run and mountain bike on the many trails on Mount Tam, hit the local beaches to surf, boogie board or standup-paddle-baord. But we like to just relax and catch up with friends and neighbors with a glass of wine and dinner on our deck.
We love traveling, locally in Marin, within California, within the U.S. and overseas to visit family and friends in Germany and explore the countryside and cities such as Berlin and Munich etc.

Why they chose this property

Nature abound within just a few steps from this property! There is tons of hiking, mountain biking, road biking just up the street from our home. And local beaches are just 20 minutes away.
In addition to enjoying local happenings in Mill Valley, we also love to head out to the Wine Country, just 20 minutes up the road. Or head up to Tahoe for a long weekend or down the coast to San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. So much to do, so little time...

What makes this property unique

Our home features wonderful outdoor spaces such as a large deck with terrific views of Mount Tam complete with cozy lounge seating around a gas fire pit, a large dining table and a covered porch. Our yard has a 14' trampoline, a swing-set, a fort and a ping pong table.
