About this property

Macia Viva, Castellina in Chianti, Siena and Chianti

Macia Viva is a charming holiday home in Chianti, set in a secluded position on a hill with beautiful views over olive groves, vineyards and the gentle green hills of the region. This country house is the perfect choice for a family or two couples looking to enjoy relaxing days surrounded by nature. The well-kept garden and L-shaped pool create a peaceful and inviting atmosphere.

The house is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, with easy access to the region’s famous wineries, castles, towns and villages. Siena is only about a 40-minute drive away, and Florence, San Gimignano or Arezzo can all be easily reached for day trips. All other amenities, as well as excellent restaurants and cafés, can be found just four kilometres away in Castellina in Chianti. We especially recommend the popular Ristorante Albergaccio di Castellina and the delicious gelato from the Gelateria di Castellina.

The two-storey stone house offers two separate living and dining areas. From the living and dining area on the first floor, guests can step directly onto a furnished terrace with a cosy seating area. Another large dining table by the pool is perfect for enjoying meals together outdoors.

Inside, the house features a mix of traditional Tuscan elements such as wooden beam ceilings and terracotta floors, combined with a comfortable, modern interior. Light decor and large windows create a bright and welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel at home.

Macia Viva offers authentic Tuscan charm, peace and comfort and is  a wonderful retreat in the heart of Chianti.

breathtaking views

The views were beyond compare! Proximity to Castellina in Chianti was wonderful and the management team were responsive to a few issues. My main comment would be, especially considering the rental cost, that the furniture and kitchen supplies (dishes etc) needs upgrading and the quality of the beds/linens should be improved. Overall however, it was a lovely stay! Grazie.

Tuscany

Lovely location and villa was excellent but needed a bit more care & attention. No welcome pack no instructions or suggestions on where to go what to see where to shop. The pool was pretty filthy as the weather was bad and no one cleaned it till last day. Power cut meant we were stuck outside in the rain for an hour and while the property team helped they left it all the the poor cleaner. Broken window broken furniture not enough chairs outside. Tiny things and we had a lovely stay but for the high rental fee I expected more attention to detail.
